What works for you? Fanny pack? Belly band? Other ways?

I used to run a lot outside. It has been a little over 4 years since I regularly ran. Didn't carry when I did. Can't imagine a male runner is a typical target. I guess I tend to think of the typical target as being for $ though understand a female could be targeted for more than $. A friend of mine (male) recently commented about a fanny pack he likes for carry when out and around casually. In the world we are in today, realistically whether it is IWB, fanny pack, sneaky pete -- having arms when you need it is what matters...

I ride a bike most mornings and carry exactly as I do everywhere else I go. YMMV 🤠

I walk a wooded "nature trail" at a local city park at least every other day. I jog sporadically when I feel like it. About 2.2mi with the long-cuts I've added. As it is 90^F+ here 9 months out of the year I walk shirtless in athletic shorts. About all I carry is half of my car key fob in a pocket, a 1/2liter bottle of water, a banana which I will eat along the way and a dew rag. Depending on the sun I'll wear sunglasses and sometimes a cap. I've thought about fanny-packing a gat but I've never felt threatened enough to go through with it. It also means I'd have to wear a belt. Aside from the occasional walker, dog-walker or jogger, I usually have the trail to myself. I have come up on homeless sleeping on some of the side trails I've cut out and an occasional group of yutes where the SitAware level rises. I'm F-ing ninja though, and often startle people as I pass by them on the trail... :ninja:

I DO carry one of these clipped to my waistband with a nice new blade in it... :)

I went for my walk today but was considering skipping it because I had given blood earlier. I felt good so I went and had no ill effects considering I was a pint short. ;) Modern day bloodletting, I suppose... :D

Although I give for more altruistic reasons, one incentive was the cool T-shirt I'm going to wear at the next Zombie Match. :) The T-shirt even glows in the dark! :D There is also a $20 gift cert to WM (or other places) given and I can check my blood results online (ie: cholesterol, iron, etc.).

Didn't get it for jogging, but for shorts/tee shirt weather w/o a belt. Most of the sorts I have are elastic waistband.
Only worn it a few times, but I like it better than the cheap belly band I had.
So far my only dislike is that I wish the mouth of the holster was stiffer to stay open for easier one handed re-holstering.
It also comes with a retention strap that thankfully can be removed.
But it is comfortable and has pockets for 2 mags.
So far have worn it in the traditional 4 o'clock and appendix positions.

Except it should be $29.95

I got it on an internet special. I think it was $50-$59.
It is much better made than the cheapy gun show belly bands with a 2" strap.

I carry my American Derringer DA38 to exercise/ PT -mostly in a pocket holster, but sometimes a clip on IWB. Also NAA Blk Widow in 22mag IWB and pocket holster.

I got the M-Tac and like it so far. I use it when biking.

Looks interesting..

I start in an MMA gym...it's in my gym bag, but for obvious reasons can't really have it on person while grappling. I feel pretty safe with all the people in there.90% would absolutely love to have someone be so stupid as to try anything in there. Weights after that, then jogging. I leave my weight belt on and tuck my 43 in the belt.

The best belly band I have found is the Crossbreed. A big rubber band and kydex for retention. I dont like 'soft' holsters at all. Or straps on holsters. The time you lose unbuttoning a strap when under duress might end badly.

Ironically, if you have a belly... belly bands don't work well. You need a boyish figure - like mine :)

Oh heck yea...that will work perfectly for me. Should have figured it was out there somewhere. I never thought to search Weight belt gun holster....silly me.

I refuse to adon a fanny pack. Standard equipment for elderly couples with matching outfits. I hope I die before being seen like this.

A fanny pack is another name for a douche bag. This guy reminds me of a cousin that I never liked. A dorky insurance salesman who needs a punch in the face. Male Karen.

I also spent some time in the UK. Fanny has a very different meaning there.

Summertime, hot humid weather... no belt holster works for me. Wearing a belt with shorts is like wearing black socks with sandals. I will occasionally use a pocket J (Vedder) and alternatively use the Crossbreed band.

I no longer have a gym nearby. When I did, I always left my pistol in the locker. 4 days a week, @ 7:00 am like it was my religion. Never concerned me that I would not be armed in the gym. I occasionally worked out with clients.

Now I'm outdoors doing physical work all the time. Or hiking. Bench weights and kettle bell twice a week. For serious hiking, I have a chest rig - a Gunfighters, Inc. Kenai. Best of breed in my opinion. It has never let me down in very challenging terrain.

Do you have any personal experience with wearing the Kenai chest rig with a day pack or larger pack? I've had a tough time working out a comfortable carry with my variety of packs.

My brother in law is AB Positive. When he was drafted for VN and had his physical and blood test, someone mentioned to him that he could end up getting his own blood back. Only 3% of all humanity has that blood type.

I'm O Positive. I can drink anything.
