80% 1911 Frame comparisons

I am interested in anyone's experiences with a 80% 1911 frames from:
  • Spectre Supply
  • KFK Arms
  • US Patriot Armory (which I think just resells Stealth Arms)
Any experience with other brands is welcome also, but most of the others are either out-of-stock, series 80, or some other issue.

Spectre has some 80% SS frames, standard and bobtail. The deck needs to be cut, but the barrel seat is already cut for Wilson/Nowlin ramped barrels (on the models I am considering).

Some companies advertise separate officer, commander, and government/full size frames. I get officers (shorter grip and dust cover), but I always thought the commander was just a 4.25" slide on the same as a government frame. Similarly, some advertise different calibers for 1911 frames, but I thought all the frames were the same, the slide and breechface is what determined the cartridge that could be used.

FWIW, I have some frames, but they are stored in another place right now and one if them is the VytamenC frame, which is no longer available.

Any insight will be greatly appreciated.

It is my understanding that the firing pin, firing pin stop and slide stop are different.
They found 9mm feeds more reliable with a different style barrel/feed ramp. So there are differences there, but there are 45acp barrels with various feed ramps also.
They have produced several variations of slide/ frame combos in 1911 series 70/80/90. Full size frames with 6,5,4 and 3 inch barrels and vice versa.
I havent tried the sub compact models of any caliber.
Frames have been either Jem or Caspian or factory weapon.
 
anyone here looking to sell any tools, files for these builds? I have the Phantom rail jig kit.
 
I've put together what basically became a new 1911 using affordable factory frames from used guns. Haven't built one from a frame I have to mill, but it's on my list.

Pls post pics when you take this 80% project on.
