I've been thinking about it over the past week or so. Leaning towards placing a larger than usual order. Rifle and pistol calibers. Just in case. You can bet your ass if Harris gets elected one of her first EO moves will be gun control.

I've been periodically buying over the past couple of years. Some just to keep target ammo on hand and some to stock up for a rainy day. Not saying I won't order anything else before the election but I am not planning a binge. At the end of the day you can't have too much ammo, so regardless of what I have I'll never feel it is enough.

Yea. I don't know what enough is either. I'm just concerned the supply is going to dry up.

I'm doing nothing. I'm actually not worried about it. The only thing that will drive the prices up and reduce supply is a panic. For whatever reason, I'm not seeing the panic like in 2016 when folks worried Clinton would try to do something.

The bottom line is that the President cannot enact new laws. Maybe that's why folks aren't panicking this time... they understand that.

Not sure that folks understand not panicking. I saw some cleared grocery store shelves while the dock worker strike was occurring. I do think that we may be seeing that production has caught back up with demand in combination with certain folks cutting back on binge buying as they have stock. I am hopeful that DJT wins such that this is all a non concern. I do suspect that a Harris win will lead to a run on guns and ammo if not other items. A libbie in office is the best salesman for 2A items. Covid was the exception to that rule.

I bought 2 cases of 9mm and a couple boxes of HST’s just last week. Mostly to replenish my supply. Then again I just got back from a different forum’s shoot in Virginia (literally 45 minutes ago). My boys made sure we got better gas mileage coming home. What does 500 rds of 9mm, 500 rds of 45acp, 150 rds of 38 special and 500 rds of 22lr weigh anyway?

I've been buying powder and primers lately. I did the loaded ammo thing
in 2020 thru mid 2023. It ended up being mostly at the police places getting
trade in ammo.

Yes to stocking up. (y) I've been using a lot of 9mm and .22LR so those are/will be ongoing...

Wal-Mart used to have bulk M-22 Winchester that works nice in my S&W 15-22. I got 2000rds maybe 6 months ago. Nice price about $70/1000. Went in there yesterday to buy another thou and THEY DON'T STOCK IT ANYMORE! WTF! 😠

In related WM fuckery, I went to get stick butter and stick margarine at the local "Marketplace" (food market) last week. Found unsalted LofL butter no problem. Didn't see ANY margarine. I ask the girl stocking eggs "Where's the margarine?" So she looks in the butter shelf area where the marg usually is like I just did. All we're seeing is "70% vegetable oil spread" WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT? I say fuck it and finish my shopping oleoless...

At the self-checkout I ask the manager-ish gal where the margarine is--is it out of stock because of the hurricane? (over a week ago) Apparently she can't find it in "inventory" on her handheld device, like it never existed. I see the manager (who always busts my balls for getting there 10min before close--but I NEVER delay them) "Hey, c'mere! Where the F is the margarine?" "Corporate did a 'reset' a week ago and we might not stock it anymore." "WHAT? (in a fairly loud voice :D ) You don't carry margarine!?! (even louder) I think corporate SUCKS! I guess I'm going to have to bring my business to Publix!" :) He seemed visibly shaken after that even though I was smiling the entire time. ;)

I would humbly counter that a Communist President will do whatever the hell they want until held accountable and/or stopped. Witness the fact that Kamala was GIVEN the DNC candidacy without earning one. single. solitary. vote.

I have friends who often say "oh they can't do that..." on any given issue, and in a constitutional and law-abiding group of people, they are correct.

However, I've seen a number of things "they can't do", but have in fact, done them anyways.

They have to be taken to court, which is a long drawn out and expensive process. The little guy can’t any ways near afford it. Then it is up to the interpretation of the judges.

I've got all my monthly bills coming up on the 1st. but when I get paid on the 15th, I'm planning to order a couple 1000rnd cans of 5.56

So I am going to link this post from Jeff Cooper here. It is as relevant now as it was when it was written.
After all the buying panics that have happened since 2012, you would think that all of the faithful would be well stocked by now. Maybe some haven't gotten the word.

Don't wait until you need it, buy it and stockpile it. When the supply gets tight, already have yours laid in.

Ordered my M-22 from GaG the other day. 2000rds for $166 to my door (.08/rd). Comes in an ammo "can". No indication of if it is further separated. The 1000s came as two 500rd boxes. I'm slightly concerned I haven't got a shipping notification yet--GaG is usually decent about shipping promptly...

Our system of constitutional checks and balances has been seriously eroded and compromised, by those so entrusted...that could be bought.

My problem is I shoot things just to shoot and not things that Need Shooting.

My problem is I keep USING the ammo I've stocked.
My best advice is the old tried and true advice concerning ammo...
Buy it cheap, and stack it deep.

This comes from someone I know that owns a machine gun.
He bases the decision to buy the MG on the available supply of ammo.
If he can buy 20K rounds of ammo for a reasonable price, he buys the gun.

Most peeps only buy ammo for what they need at the moment. When the panics sets in, they are fucked and bemoan the lack of ammo.
Don't be that guy. Lay in a supply when it's available.

I reload, and I have more components than I will consume for the rest of my life....bullets, brass, primers, and powder. I am not concerned about any shortage....ever.
