Having fused wrists I need a handgun to "fit" for me to be able to quickly get it on target. A few pieces of foam and some Barge Cement they fit like they were made for my hand.
It's a super duty contact cement. I use foam floor mat so it's pretty dense but yields somewhat. It's a cheap and easy way to adapt available guns to fit instead of being limited in selections of firearms.

I have seen others using these on occasion. Thicker and squeezier than Pachmayer or Hogue rubber sleeves. I prefer a small, thin grips with minimal stippling. On metal guns I always switch to smooth wood or bone stocks. The exceptions are...
1. Goon Tape on a race gun grip. Also on the forward grip surfaces on ARs and shotguns in 3 gun matches. When it gets funky, just take it off. It leaves no residue.
2. A little more aggressive stippling on a carry gun. You have to plan for the contingency of being wet or bloody.
Lots of people swear by Talon. I just never warmed to it. Expensive sandpaper. Also, removing it left my grips sticky.
Goon is not attractive but it works like a champ for me. Way cheaper than all the sleeves and die-cut products out there too.
A reasonable alternative and less expensive than Goon is Howie's Hockey tape. Some have claimed that Goon is secretly owned by Howie's - but that's been denied. I have tried Howie's and it works fine, but Goon is slightly different. A tighter weave and it seems to have less adhesive (thinner) than Howie's. Even so, Goon stays put.
