Got down to 30 degrees here last night! It's now 37. They've issued an "Iguana Warning." It's a real thing! LOL!

Good chance to thin the invaders. Florida needs a really big deep freeze in the whole state to get rid of most of the invasive plant and animal species that are thriving. Unfortunately, the invasive fish will be just about impossible to get rid of as they swim to warmer waters. The downside of an extended deep freeze is it would devastate the citrus crops.

So, do you take the collected iguanas to a reptile recycling center for disposal, or do you have a more creative method of disposal like finding the local Democrat politicians and throwing them over the wall of their gated compound? šŸ˜‹

Nah, the Haitians are having BBQ's like crazy

I was hoping someone had video of an intrepid soul that built an iguana trebuchet and was merrily launching the reptiles into the yards of at least the local HOA Nazis. šŸ˜‹

I'd pay money to watch that!

"Do not bring iguanas inside to warm up"

Dr. Juan--Miami Mountain Vet, recommends bringing torpid iguanas into your bed with you and use your body heat to warm them up. :D

Today was Public Day (8-12) at my outdoor range in Geneva, FL where I RSO. It was 21° when I left my house. At the range, which is slightly closer to the ocean, it was about 24° but with a stiff 15-20mph wind from the west. 🄶 I broke out the turtle-neck, thick Champion hoodie, thermal socks, long-johns and thick gloves from my skiing/snowboarding days. Fortunately, the club issues RSOs a very nice insulated wind-breaker which helped a lot as the outer layer. The hoodie fit over my shooting ear muffs which stayed on all morning and helped keep my ears warm.

One of the other RSOs brought a propane heater which we all occasionally gathered around to warm up. It provided a "little" bit of heat for us but I think had more benefit as a placebo. :)

It WAS a relatively slow day for guests, as expected. Our range (pistol) had one guy show up fairly early then had to go back to his car to get a jacket once he realized how cold it was. He brought older rifles and pistols (all .22s) and while the rifles did OK, the pistols did not. Both single-action revolver and semi-auto were having issues I think were related to the grease/oil was thickened by the cold.

At about 10am a group of 4 guys showed up with a few pistols. They burnt about 400rds between them until we kicked them out around noon.

The rifle range only had ONE shooter and the plinking range zero.

PS: it was still only 30° at 10am. By the time I left at 1pm after testing a couple pistols it had warmed up to a balmy 41°. The testing sucked because I couldn't fit my winter gloves into the trigger guards so the gloves had to come off. :(
