I was looking for a gold colored firing / striker pin for my "GoldiGlox" build. I know... an exercise in vanity, but why not? This is supposed to be fun, right? 
In my searching online, I came across this product from Cross Armory. I had some questions, and Wes Cross quickly replied to my email. So, I placed my order.
It's machined from billet steel and skeletonized. The lug-face is slightly radiused to reduce friction with the sear.
Cross Armory ships quickly, and I got it today. But... it wasn't gold! It was the heat-treated stainless version! I checked my order. Sure enough, I ordered the wrong one, dammit!

I thought about what to do next. I decided that instead of returning it, I'd install it in my G34 build (my first build) and see how it performs. If I liked it, I'd just place another order, making sure I select the GOLD one.
Since I have plenty of OEM parts (firing pin spacer sleeve, spring, and spring cups), I just created a new striker assembly and set the current G34 striker assembly aside. I installed it with an armorer's slide cover-plate to verify adequate sear engagement. Good to go! And off to the range I went!
I put 50 rounds through the G34 with the new firing pin without any issues. I normally would have fired more, but I had other testing tasks with my other builds and limited time before the range closed.
