The polymer frame Judge is a decent snake gun. Low maintenance. Long guns in that situation are inconvenient. The rifled barrel widely disperses the shot. More so than a smooth bore. Nobody shoots snakes from a distance.

The 410 is better than a 22 pistol with snake loads in my opinion. Cottonmouths and copperheads are fairly common in my nick of the woods. The Judge is not good for much else.

I wouldn't want to be shot with a 410 or a 45 LC, but for home defense I think there are better choices. My wife knows how to use the 20 gauge Shockwave. It's secured in the master bath. There's also a 9mm pistol in there. She knows to barricade in there if a situation arises and I'm not home or incapacitated. I reinforced the door and door frame.

The Judge is a big, clumsy pistol and I dont think she would handle it well. The recoil is not trivial.
