I finally received my Full & Compact Dagger FDE frames along with a "M-4" AR bare lower, all serialized. It took PSA over a week to "process" the order but once shipped, it was to my FFL in 2-3 days. The FFL was a "new" to me guy but my dot's BF had used him and was happy. Plus he only charges $25 for one gun. For my three, the charge was to be $30. Communication was good via texting. It is interesting to see the values PSA put on the items for whatever reason. It still comes out to $100 for two frames...

I also set it up with him to receive a replacement Lone Wolf frame for me, also serialized, ETA unknown. But he was quick to send them his FFL info for me.

So Wednesday the PSA frames were delivered to him and he had mentioned he probably couldn't meet until Thurs. but Weds. he asks me for a copy of my ID and CWL and city of birth, which I text him. Then I mention I'm on my way to my shop and could pick them up if he was available and he's like "sure, come on by". :)

He is a full-time local cop, doing "gunsmithing" out of his house on his days off, so his FFL is based there. I thanked him for his service, we chatted for a bit then took care of business. I owed him $30, all I had was $40, he didn't have change so I said "just hold onto the $10 and we'll settle up when I pick up the Lone Wolf". Then he pointed to the second of the two boxes I hadn't even noticed and there was the Lone Wolf frame! :D I said "shit man, keep the $10!" :) He had already filled out most of the 4473 and also the continuation sheet 53009 with the Lone Wolf on it. So $10 a transfer was right up my alley! ;) I'll update my damaged Freedom Wolf post with info on the Lone Wolf TWC3 frame. The FW is shown next to the as-received TWC3. Because they are just frames, there were no "multiple handgun purchase" reporting requirements according to him.

Immediately went about putting together the Full size frame with a PSA slide to see how it feels and how I liked it. Note that I haven't fired it yet, so these are initial observations both good and bad, in no particular order:
* once I put a magwell on it ($25 on debay) it does not look like it will fit in the Plano case. Oh well, I can always get another case...
* the serial number appears to be a sticker so it will be interesting to see how it holds out.
* it fit right into my Glock "sport" holster even with optic.
* I don't know what to think about the finger nub on the front of the grip. I may have to grind it off down the road...
* the frame and trigger could use a little sanding/deburring to make them more finger-ready.
* the mag release is SUPER STIFF! I'm going to have to do something to it before I go back to the range such as try a different spring.
* the top of the slide release is sharp and will need smoothing or replace with an OEM extended unit.
* I'm not too crazy about the trigger feel and reset...

And just like that, I'm out of slides! :D Clockwise from lower left are:

* FDE PF940C, all parts obtained from USPA during a BF sale. I think I am into it for $250 without mag. This is the gun that started it all for me by running smoothly when I first put it together, unlike many others I've built... This guy has run pretty good since I got it, maybe 500rds through it?

* black PF940C with P80 frame kit, Patmos "Judah" .40 slide kit, mag is ETS 22 .40. This is the second Judah, first went back to JDS under warranty for firing pin hole being WAY off center so pin couldn't even come out. The RSA was also a piece of junk and binding in the frame. This slide the hole is still off-center but it works... I'm still not comfy with the hole being off as I suspect it may eventually break the firing pin... JDS is balking at a second return, says it is "probably within tolerances". I'll make a post soon on this with pics from a bore scope inside the firing pin hole so you know I'm not being overly picky--the firing pin hole is definitely off. Primer strikes are visibly off-center. All I can say is THIS IS THE LAST PATMOS SLIDE I BUY! If you want a .40 gun, just buy a police trade-in which is what I wished I had done...

* FDE Full-size Dagger frame and slide (purchased separately). Described a couple paragraphs above. I'm going to put a magwell on this and see how it works as a "Action Steel" gun. Need to take it to the range to see how it runs. The slide and red dot combo was $420 and the slide was just on sale for $190 so the 507 comes out to $230 which is a good deal on it. With mag I have about $500 into it. The compact FDE Jagger frame shown above will go into inventory--I have enough 19-sized guns at the moment.

* black Lone Wolf CWP3 frame and black Jagger SW1 slide with target crown SS barrel. Swapped the parts over from the Freedom Wolf and I'll update the post I created on it. Long story short, Lone Wolf sent me a frame to replace the Freedom Wolf and they didn't want the old one back which has a rail that came unglued. Swapped the parts over to it and next step is a trip to the range. I need to swap to sights over to something other than the skyscrapers PSA puts on their slides... ;)

Thanks for taking the time for the great write up. And particular this tidbit:
"Because they are just frames, there were no "multiple handgun purchase" reporting requirements according to him."

I did not know this. I will have to ask my local FFL to confirm. I do want some serialized frames for all the reasons discussed in other threads and the Dagger looks decent. So, do a few other frames. Bundling them in a single purchase is a lot easier, I was just thinking it would have the two hand gun reporting record.

 so as long as I buy multi serialized lower/receivers I probably won't get a visit from AFT about multiple guns purchase visits like one I saw on YT?

Gawish I dodge a bullet, unknowing I avoided AFT boy's visit when I got Dagger lower and 3x serialized AR lowers.

Pick a really young FFL owner. One that will live a lot longer than you will. And ask him how he likes running his business first. Because, the moment he closes shop or croaks, the boyz swoop in for his sales lists and paperwork.

I don’t think the regs differentiate a serialized frame from a handgun. It’s a gun. The FFL is obligated to report a multi-gun purchase. I believe if you buy a half dozen serialized frames, the Men in Black are going to come a knockin’ and ask to see them. If you can’t produce them for some reason, you are risking a being charged with a crime. And if the FFL did not report a multi-gun purchase on the 3310, he could lose his license.

I would love to be proven wrong on this. But I’ll need to see the evidence in writing. The part of a handgun that is serialized… either the frame or FCU… is in the eyes of the ATF and the law a handgun. If the ATF agents think you are making straw purchases or in the case of only frames making guns and selling them, you are quite literally f—ked.

Measure twice, cut once. Before buying a gaggle of guns all at a once.

What about buying a gaggle of 80% / unfinished frames?

If it was from one of the vendors they are harassing like JSD or P80 then quite possibly that could be flagged.. Better to have bought one at a time in my opinion and spread it around with many vendors if someone were to be considering buying a lot.

What you have expressed was my feeling as well. I am not sold on it being okay for the FFL to not report a multi-frame purchase of two blank serialized frames. I would not hide a purchase of a serialized frame that I still owned. That's asking for harassment and trouble coming your way.

That's pretty much what I did. :)

I do seem to recall that KM Tactical was one of the companies they harassed at the beginning alongside JSD. I could be in error, but I don't think I am. KM Tactical was quick to shake that off publicly. I don't know if they had good lawyers, or the claims by the ATF were not as solid against them.

I read a story not long ago about a man who bought one of every color SCCY. The ATF stopped by and asked to see them. It was 8 guns as I recall. He complied and they went away.

Like so- called 👻guns, SCCY is popular among gang members. Or so the rumor goes.

There’s so much bullshit floating around the web I couldn’t say if this is true or not. But it is plausible. Eight guns purchased would absolutely set off alarms.
