It's a way too make the world worse for you. Because they hate you.

Only gas burners. EVs are nice and toasty when you get in :)

Deshalb wird mein nächstes Auto elektrisch sein, said Hans.

Sure... at the expense of the battery power. Ain't nothing "free."
Nobody cares. They just want a warm car.

No emissions so you can make that seat and steering wheel nice and warm while its sitting in the garage too. :)

Similarly, we don't care about the "emissions." And I truly mean it... we don't give a FUCK about it. And guess what... neither does the Earth. It's a solution to "problem" we don't have.

I think it's HILARIOUS that EV advocates conveniently ignore the emissions created (at the power plant) when the electricity is generated (to charge their car batteries).

That said... fortunately, I live where "cold" means 65 degrees! LOL! So my heated seats and heated steering wheel (in my Outback) don't get used at all. But I've got'em!

I care about emissions of a car warming up in my garage. :)

Emissions from base load power plants are seldom variable. With a few exceptions, it's the same 24/7. Whether ratepayers are charging their EV or not. The average EV charger when charging the vehicle puts about the same load on the grid as a window air conditioner. I've never heard of anyone object to someone buying an air conditioner at Home Depot because of power plant emissions. Same goes for EVs. It doesn't matter.

The power consumed by the refining, delivery, distribution, and retail sales of gasoline and diesel is huge. I suspect the electric power needed for 50 gas pumps and all this lighting 24/7 is not trivial. You are correct sir. Nothing is free. In the end, it will be about what fuel is the least expensive to produce and has the lowest environmental impact.

Scenario 1: Stuttgart had 15.24cm of snow last night, temps are about 0° C. Hans hits the remote start on his Lexus as his coffee finishes brewing. 5 minutes later he walks out the door, coffee in hand, brushes off any remaining snow from the roof and hood, gets in car, drives off warm, comfy and alert. He has no problems with visibility on his way to the Porsche plant.

Scenario 2: Stuttgart had 15.24cm of snow last night, temps are about 0° C. Hans walks out his door, coffee in hand, brushes off enough snow to barely see out the windshield, and spills coffee on his tie. Hans goes back inside to change his tie and now running late, he urgently guides his Lexus onto the E41 not seeing the tractor-trailer coming towards him at a high rate of speed. The truck hits his Lexus, killing him then jackknifes, blocking all lanes. The resulting 50-car pile-up and fire claims 30 lives and destroys 40 cars, 20 of them EVs and Hybrids. Toxic clouds rise from the carnage and it is days until the wreckage is finally cleared...

edit: they don't measure snow in inches in Germany... ;)

You conveniently left out that the truck driver was a Sikh who was issued his EU CDL in Cyprus. He could not read or write in any of the official languages of Europe.
