Ex-Marine shoots, kills would-be robber at north Alabama gas station, sheriff says

When the suspect left the store, the man told him to drop his gun. When man pointed his gun, the Marine shot him, officials said.

Then an unnamed man, who authorities identified only as a former Marine, saw the robbery taking place and produced his own weapon. When Henry left the store, the man told Henry to drop his gun. When Henry pointed his gun, the unnamed man shot him. Henry died at the scene.

PS... There are no "ex" Marines!

I used to live in a little hick town outside of a big metro area.
Armed robbery of a gas station where I used to get my beer. Regular customer is filling up his truck. witnesses the robbery through the store window and flat-lined the guy upon his exit.

Kudos to him. However, I pay no attention to the media source. There is no such thing as an EX-marine. He earned the title. It's his for life.
