Donald Trump told oil industry executives he would dismantle Joe Biden’s pro-electric vehicle agenda as he asked for $1bn (£800m) to help return him to the White House, it has been claimed.

The Republican presidential candidate pledged to roll back the Biden administration’s environmental rules at a meeting with fossil fuel bosses last month, according to the Washington Post, and called recently introduced EV rules “ridiculous”.

The Biden administration has also frozen permits for exports of liquefied natural gas (LNG), citing environmental concerns.

The industry has grown dramatically in recent years thanks to the shale boom. The freeze has been widely opposed by the gas industry and Republicans have tried to overturn it.

Mr Trump told gas executives that he would overturn the freeze immediately. “You’ll get it on the first day,” he reportedly said.

This is crazy. We have big gas tax here in CA that is purported to go for road repair. Ha, big joke, we don’t have roads we have pot holes and rubble to drive on. Ford is scaling their EV development BACK... quite a bit. I wouldn't be surprised if Chevy (GM) is surging "forward" with EV development.

There are several videos on youtube of peeps that are running their gas vehicles using wood gasification. Pickups are the natural choice as the bed then carries your supply of wood. Pre emissions trucks are the easiest to convert. This is not new. It seems that it was popular in Europe during WW2 when gas was hard to get. They made a unit that attached to the bumper.

"Monster Garage" or one of those shows did a bit on where they created a self-feeding gasification unit for a pickup. I believe they had a pipe running from the bed to the engine. May have been a conversion company involved...

That is the coolest thing ever ! Love it. OMG I want that wonder if it’ll go 65 up a hill. I saved his channel bunch of goodies on there. We just started freeze drying. Becoming more and more in line with prepping these days….but, not crazy preppers

There are lots of videos about converting a truck to run on wood gas. Yes, it will perform same as gasoline, just a start up time for the gasifier before you can drive. 10-15 minutes if memory serves.

Now you know in California, burning wood is a hanging offense. You'll have fly under the radar if you do it.

What did they think was going to happen?

I won't even get in an EV (to ride as a passenger). Nope. The door latches are electric. I don't want to chance not being able to get out. It's a hard pass for me.

I'll get in a Navy jet, catapult shot, aerobatics, and arrested landing on a moving flight deck (and have)... But, I won't do that.

That fire is quite interesting. I couldnt help but notice flames lapping out from between the rear of the front passenger door and the front of the rear passenger door where the pillar is. Wondering what is in that particular space that it started to burn that quickly
