I found these videos the other day. I haven’t built one yet, but they intrigue me. I asked a couple people that have built them on here about the vids but haven’t gotten anything definitive back, so I figured I’d bring it to the larger audience.
A lot of the work looks similar to what you see in MGB’s videos.
Hoping to hear people’s thoughts on the Geisler-specific steps.

“Geisler 80% Frame Overview. Is It Redeemed?”

“Geisler 80% Full Build Follow Along”

I just watch the Overview video. I'm gonna pass on the follow along since I've already done my builds. I sure that after watching his Overview video, he has done a good job with the follow along. I like his attitude about overcoming different quirks or problems in 80% builds. Tinkering IS what it's all about other than the 2A thing itself.

I do not have any slack/wobble in either of my trigger housings. I will say that mine were purchased last year soon after they hit the market.

It's possible after the hiatus when the shtf, they've started using different molds or there's some other QC thing that's letting that slip by.

I do have the oversized slot for the take down lever. I like his idea of shiming the frame. My frame on the left has a shim on the lever itself to correct it.

The one on the right has nothing and while the slide moves a fraction when the trigger is pulled, has caused no functionality problems. I have NEVER had the slide fall off as so many others CLAIM.

The mags are a little loose, but like him, it doesn't bother me and they stay in place when firing.
As you can see, 1 of mine has custom stippling, but I do like the grip and stippling on the stock one.

IMO, it was an easier build than a Polymer80. I felt the channel was much easier to clear. As far as the tabs, I have fret cutters, snip, snip.
The jig seems to be much better quality than Polymer80.

I do have the 40cal ejector in the stock one. I was getting erratic ejection even with the 30274 ejector and the 40cal corrected that.

What I'd like to see, is a magwell that will fit it. That might possibly fix the loose mag problem.
I know just by looking at it that no magwell on the market that I'm aware of will fit.
I have written to Giesler Defence asking if they recommend one or are planning to offer one themselves, but haven't heard back from them.

Maybe if these frames catch on? I’m sure at the beginning there weren’t a ton of P80 magwells either?

Gotta give them credit. They were pretty quick with a response to my query about a magwell. Something to look forward to.

Those frames are kind of ugly. They had some problems at first with the slide lock slot being too wide and other things too, but I've read they corrected those issues.
I'm considering getting one since p80 has flunked out and there are no other 80% options.

We just dropped an updated video covering the Geisler 19x build instructions.

Cool! I'll check it out. And I just "stickied" this thread to the top of this forum section. :)

Thanks for joining the forum and participating by posting! When you get a chance, please write up a quick “introduction” (or RE-introduction if you were a former MGB forum member) of yourself over in the Introduce Yourself! section. Tell us about yourself, your building experience, and how you found the forum.

Jump into other threads, too! Come on in... the water's fine! 😊

It just occurred to me that YouTube will definitely delete this video. I'd post it to Rumble or Odyssey.

It would appear that the finishing of the Geisler frame is identical to the procedures for the P80 frames.

I watched the Husky Armory video. The technique shown will certainly work. But I will admit to having a case of the "willies" watching the hand drill being used for the pin holes. :) I'm also not a fan of using snips based on my previous experience. But it works.

I agree, I’d build the frame using tried and true techniques used building p80. No sense going backwards when we all know more accurate FTQ methods.

Pre-workstation and MGB that’s how you did it. I saved some early videos that used a hand drill. I never figured out how to get it perfectly straight. I have a couple of problematic frames that I’m pretty sure that is the issue. I’d like to fill and redrill the holes but I need a good Spectre frame to do it.

I also like shorter drill bits. And having control over the plunge depth. Long drill bits are more likely to wobble or get chucked in a way that they're not spinning true.

It is called a "drill press". :) That's what I used for all mine after taping the jig tightly closed. I also didn't overlap the tape onto the sides so the jig would sit perfectly flat. I used a drill press because I have one (actually 4 but who's counting). I suppose if one doesn't have a drill press but does have a Dremel tool, then the Dremel press could be an option...

The Dremel Workstation (press) works a charm. The key is setting it up.

Welcome.
I get a wild hair and I might want to do a red or blue frame.
I'll know where to get one.
