Couldn't find a good spot to put this thread so here's its landing. I got this frame last year, it's a gen 3 stripped . I ordered a few slide and frame parts from Lone Wolf Distributors. Will drop by Glockmeister's next week to pick up a trigger housing. Then order a Cerakote pin set the middle of the month. Hopefully order a slide and barrel in September. I don't have a 45acp gun yet so I will have to tool up reloading supplies and extra magazines. Might buy an RMR Slide and a threaded barrel and put a brake on it. As it sits now with just a trigger and bar. It's a two month build ... Stay tuned !

Very cool. Photos! Photos! :)

I guess this could be called a "franken-build." We may eventually need a separate section for just that!

I highly recommend Arm or Ally for G20/21 builds. Their slides are a great deal but I did have some issues with a G21 build as the hood of the frame needed to be clearanced a bit but it may have been an issue with the barrel. I recommend using the barrels they sell as they are made to work with their slides. Arm Or Ally does seem to be sold out now but join the list to be notified. AoA Duty Slide w/ RMR Cut For Glock® 21 You can buy a Cerakoted upper and PF45 Cerakoted lower so everything matches. Their Cerakoting is very good.

KM Tactical has some decent deals on the MK II. I only recommend that one as it is higher build quality than the standard version they sell in first link below. I do not recommend their barrels but I do have a G21 barrel that is threaded and works fine. The ones for the G20/21/41/40 did not work at all so I would not consider those. There are much better barrels for a little more money available.

On the link below, if you want it all one color make the colors the same. I have used quite a few of their slides. The older ones required quite a bit of work to get them to function properly but the new MKII is of much higher quality. Faded Cerakote Glock Slide (Buyer's Choice Of Color & Slide Model) This one worked fine too Slide for Glock 21 w/ RMR Cut - RAW (45 ACP)

On the internals, will recommend going with Glock OE slide internals and Glock OE on the trigger housing for the 20/21 as everything is inexpensive except for the striker. Gen 5 trigger parts work better than the G3 trigger parts on the 20/21's and the Vex trigger is, IMHO, the best trigger for Glocks though Racer had some issues with his. They have worked great for me and I have bunch of them on many different models.

Seems when you buy a G20/21 parts bundle it turns out more expensive than buying the parts individually so do the math when you are adding to your cart. I've also had luck with some strikers I purchased on Ebay. Stripped Firing Pin/Striker For Glock 21/20 Made in USA NEW | eBay Not recommend is the Lone Wolf striker, internals, or trigger housing. The striker is chrome plated and the chrome will chip off and can clog the striker channel. Ask me how I know. Their extractors are good as are their barrels and slides.

I already ordered Glock OE slide parts and lower parts except for A Lone Wolf firing pin. Picking up a Glock #8203 trigger housing from Glockmeister's this week. Ghost 3.5lb connector is in the mail along with a Wolf 4lb firing pin spring and a Glock #350 6 lb trigger housing spring. This combo works great. I am a student of Johnny Glocks trigger Works.
I have used several KMT slides, used there barrels but they are budget. Fan of KKM, Storm Lake, Spectre barrels. I have used the brand of Cerakote parts before as well, they are good to go !

This makes me Dr Frankenstein and the gun is the monster .

Highly recommend going with a Gen 5 trigger housing and arm or use a gen 3 arm and convert it to work with the Gen 5 housing. I've only used gen 4 and 5 housings on any large frame Glock Gen 3 or later or P80 PF45. Couple the Gen 5 trigger housing along with a JG Vex trigger, 3.5 lb connector, and it's heaven. The Gen 5 trigger housings are around $12. Cheap upgrade with a 100% better feel over all previous triggers.

Again, the LW strikers chrome will peel. I would think twice about using one.

Never worked with a gen 5 trigger housing. Just gen 3 &4. If I get a Glock firing pin I would put this one in my next build a G40 in 10mm. My G20 has a LWD firing pin and I have had no issues.

I already have a stock G20/21 trigger with bar. I will give it my standard polishing.

Me neither until I did. Now I have a bunch of Gen 3 and Gen 4 housings sitting around without a home. The Gen 5 trigger system is a quantum leap for Glock in terms of feel and responsiveness. I literally swapped just about all my triggers with a Gen 5 GPT or Gen 5 system in the large frames not running a Timney kit.

For the large P80 frame, Is the Gen 5 Trigger housing = #8203? Is it a drop-in to replace the #5406 typically recommended? Or are there mods needed to match the P80 frames?
Same question for the trigger arm; you indicated that you used a Gen 5 arm or modified a Gen 3/4 arm to match the Gen 5 trigger housing. What were the mods?
Thanks!

#8203 is a gen 3 full size G20/21 trigger housing.

@Steelart99 Here is a post about putting a gen 5 trigger in a 10/45 frame. Since posting this I have put one in a PF45 and it is working great!

Post in thread 'I got a fever... the fever for more cowbuilds! Anyone else got a fever?' I got a fever... the fever for more cowbuilds! Anyone else got a fever?
They work fantastic in the PF45. Been running them for some time and with a small tweak of the cruciform, I get 100% engagement with a Vex trigger. In my opinion, the only better feel than a Gen 5 trigger with a Vex shoe on the large frame is a Timney with Vex shoe and it's only marginally better. Put it this way, no more new Timney's for me as it is no longer worth the cost. With the GPT for the small frame and the Gen 5 for the large frame, I'm all in on the Gen 5 triggers. For $10 to $12 dollars delivered, it's a cheap and nice upgrade when you recycle/modify your Gen 3 trigger bar to work with the Gen 5 system.

What is the part number for the Trigger housing for the G20/21 gen 5 ?? And the part number for the gen 5 trigger ??
TIA

Just swap your ejector from the other 20/21 housing you ordered. Use the one that comes with this one on another gun as an upgraded ejector.

Why the FrankenGlock trigger? Just curious.

Considered Apex, Johnny, or Zev? Is this a range gun?

You mentioned a brake. That's more typical of long range rifles. Did you mean a compensator?

You need the Glock 20/21 SF trigger housing. It is Gen 4ish. Gen 5 works also but you need the Gen5 trigger bar also. This part just recently became available.

The Gen3 trigger housing is squared off at the bottom and does not fit in the frame. I accidentally bought one and demonstrated to myself that this is, in fact, true.

Again, you can take your Gen 3 trigger bar and covert it to a Gen 5 by cutting off the spring hook. It works perfectly. I've done it to dozens. Also, when you insert the trigger into the new spring guide on the Gen 5, put some gun grease on the trigger and in the channel as it can wear out from friction if you don't.
