I know what you're thinking. Did I have six shots, or only five?

6" or 4" ? Looks like a 6" .
I have a newer 4".
Mouwwed the tit off the lock so that won't ever be a problem.
Chambers were a bit rough so I polished on those.
I really would like some old school grips instead of the newer ones.
Seems like the newer ones are cut with sharp corners and thinner.
Gorgeous revolver though.

I have a m25 in 45 colt as well.
That one has some janky rifling and I need to paper it to see how it shoots.
It might shoot too good that way.
Have some Italian made 73 and C&B replicas with really janky rifling that shoot extremely well.

6" and 2 speed loaders in his jacket pocket

From the back of the safe. SC Wildlife Dept. commemorative Model 29 from 44 years ago.
Old style with pinned barrel and recessed cylinder face before the cost cutting changes.

Now you MUST go shoot it! :D

I just wish they could make something just close to that era today that shoot as sweet.
Go to range with somebody and their new custom shop blah blah $$$$$$$ , I let them shoot my Pre27 after theirs. They just look dumb founded. Sometimes I think they cry on the inside alil.
Even my 17 is practically a religious experience.

Very NICE 44 there.

Admittedly, I’m not a Smith guy. I don’t own any. But if I ever get one, it will be a 29. Huge fan of 44 magnum.
My lever actions and wheel guns are 44's. With a couple exceptions. My Marlin is 45-70. Alaskan 454 Casull. Couple of 357 revolvers tossed in but I almost never shoot them.

They aren't as nice to look at, but I really like Rugers when it comes to wheel guns. Rugged and dependable.

Harry Callahan himself.

Didn't Ruger make a 44 caliber carbine back in the 70's or 80's??
