If it was my range....

Banned forever. Holy shit.

There is NO excuse for that.
Someone posted that the guy sweeping the floor was actually hit. That changes the situation. Bring in the lawyers. I'd sue that dickhead into bankruptcy. The video leaves nothing to interpretation but negligence.

Dude had TWO negligent discharges. He has NO control over his firearm. Having a hot shell down your shirt does not excuse it whatsoever. I know some will argue, "It's a reflex that can't be helped." BULLSHIT. Ask me how I know. I'd bet most of us have had a hot shell burn.

Definitely had a hot casing land on my head or get in my shirt. You have to be disciplined to put the gun down in spite of the reaction to the pain.

Speaking of range hazards... I once had a bullet jacket shard or someone shooting green tip in a different lane cut my face. Nothing serious but I was not wearing eye protection. I'd look like a pirate for the rest of my life if it had hit me in the eye. That was a not so subtle reminder to always wear glasses.

I had a hot case lodge itself between my eyebrow and shooting glasses. No ND. No flagging other shooters. I just quickly set the pistol down and cleared the brass from my glasses. How much of a complete wuss is that guy to dance around like that over hot brass down his back? Asshat should be banned from ALL ranges for life!

On our Public Days, many of the RSOs carry a pistol OWB in plain sight. I guess we become "range cops" for the day? Normally, NO holstered guns are allowed or more specifically allowed to be drawn from the holster. If you want to keep your concealed pistol concealed, that's OK. I don't know what we would do with our guns if there were occasion to use them but I'm sure someone would be weighed down with lead...

About a year ago at a steel shoot, a .22 case landed on the inside of my right forearm close to the elbow. I was shooting weak-side as the stage demanded. Man that I am šŸ’Ŗ, I didn't shake my arm to get rid of the burning case, which I could have done safely, I just continued with the stage. Well, that was stupid as it took a good couple weeks to heal and I now have another scar.
