Kalashnikov USA in bankruptcy

Classic Youboob. Two Bubbas trying to prove their favorite rifle is better. The sensible comments pretty much call them out. Plus the usual fanbois and haters in both camps weighing in. Weak spring, promag calls the test into question. I could be wrong but I'd put money on neither one of them ever was in a war zone.

The AR did well though. As it should. The difference is when you are roaming out in the woods, you dont have a nice bench with all your cleaning materials there to fix the AR. In this situation, with an AK, you run some water thru it and it's good to go.

The average Jihadi would respectfully disagree with this test. There's a reason why Israel based their Galil on the AK. I think it's a better AK than the real Russki.

I do agree the AR is overall a better rifle than the AK. Take two guys. Put them out in the woods or wetlands or desert for a month with no shelter and no cleaning kits, no tools. I know which gun will still be working.

The AK isn't nearly as good as the internet would have you believe. The AR-15 isn't nearly as bad as the internet would have you believe.

I'm sure the engineers of both rifles knew exactly what would stop their rifle and gamed the tests to make sure they worked in adverse conditions. The average red neck or bubba is not so constrained. Engineers could possibly make sure the rocks in the mud are too big to get in the action, make sure the mud is too thick to make its way in or thin enough to run out if it does get in. Red neck looks down, this is my mud, as is-where is, no sifting, no gaming. Let'er rip. That is a true test.

The shits where it eats seems to blow junk out of the way. While the other actions keep cramming more in a tight space. DI might be a feature not a bug. I leave this conversation with this, "In theory, there is no difference between practice and theory. In practice, there is."

1000ss of corrosive ammo through my AKs and FALs( well couple of them) rubber mallet and some oil on worst day.
I must of nicked my finger on bolt lugs of my Bushmaster and got "A" drop of blood on it. Stored with a coat of RIGs and EZOX couple yrs. That tiny little speck of rust that formed talking 1/2 grain of rice IF that. Tried every lube/cleaner soaked days at a time. Rubber mallet on forward assist, charging handle. Removed gas block and used a rod to tap open.
Normally dont store things closed, but it happens. It happens.
I love my ARs. All my current hunting rifles are AR. For the most part I dont worry about the weather with them. Not blued and seldom rust. I also dont ignore them like I can others.
Its like a car dealership. We have everyone switched over so they can be dependent on maintenance/parts & clean ammo.
I rifle that can be buried in a cave for 30yrs and work with blackpowder rds just isnt profitable

Back on topic, The AK they were putting out definitely sucked.
No bullet ramp, proprietary mags, super thin receiver and it seems overly hardened. I did a couple mag conversions & even a AR mag unit. They worked better. I never liked them and traded them off

If the AK is so good, even Pro-Mag couldn't stop it right?
I have a rule. Don't argue with 60 years of battle proven data on the reliability of the AK in every climate on earth.

I've also never seen a condom over the muzzle of an AK to keep the sand out. Probably because Muslim extremists who carry them in such places have no idea what a condom is. :) Ask me how I know. Their beekeeper women dont know what a rubber is either.

But I digress. Oh, what the Hell. I might as well finish that thought before I go out and cut the grass.

This never ending discussion, like caliber or grip angle debates reminds me of something. After I came back to the US for good, I strolled into an LGS and range while visiting some friends in Seattle. I was still walking with a cane after an AK round went thru my leg. Still, I felt like putting few rounds downrange. I didnt have a gun with me on that trip so I told the guy behind the counter I wanted to rent the Beretta 92 and a box of ammo. He smirks and says something like, "Oh, good thing we don't have any sand here." Or something like that.

Now... this fuckstick was probably in diapers during the first Gulf War when sand in the magazines jamming the M9 was news. And he doesnt look old enough or have the mannerisms of a vet who was actually in the Middle East any time after. He looked more like the bastard son of the blonde guy from Flock of Seagulls. I imagined his Mom was a social worker and his Dad secretly wore her lingerie. I figured what he actually knows first hand about guns and sand and the Beretta M9 could be inscribed on the head of a pin. I dont think Reddit was a thing back then but I felt certain he read this on the interwebs when he should have been doing his homework. Kind of like many of the "scientists" on YouTube.

I let it go.

I wouldn't mind getting my hands on another AK. I've had 3, back when you could get them for $2-400 a pop. I regret selling every one of them. My favorite was a Yugo M70AB2 ( The underfolder model ). Even the dumbest of the dumb ( me at that time ), could operate and maintain it.

Speaking of AKs...

Anybody have a Saiga? What a nightmare. Even legend Jerry Mikulek got sucked into the Saiga vortex. Then abandoned it.

It takes a lot of skill to make a good gun better. It's even harder to make a bad gun simply good enough. I put a lot of time and money into getting a Saiga 12 ga to run reliably. Numerous part swaps, upgrades, modifications. All that just to get it to run reliably. Not actually improve it.

Legend JM briefly endorsed it and probably got paid to do so. He quietly walked away from this gun and took up with Mossberg. When JM cant make a gun shoot well, you know that's a problem. The primary draw was it was mag fed. Way faster reload than a traditional tube fed shotgun.

Long story short, the magic happened when I learned how to get the gas system properly dialed in. I still have it. Low recoil shells still dont cycle well but it shoots. I have a drum and a couple of the giant mags. I have considered the Tapco trigger upgrade but that's major surgery.

I like my traditional shotguns. Give me a Benelli any day of the week. The good news is some people want the now discontinued Saiga and pay stupid money for them. I'll get around to selling it one day.

Doing some cleaning I found a yugo underfolder, couple G kits, RPK, 2 AMD but missing BCG :( hope I find 1 day) & 2 M92 Krinks. Only had the 1.5mm Akron Armory receiver for the KKrink. Built the RPK and 1 Krink. Receit in box was from turn or the century.( How cool is it that we can say that ?? Turn of the century lol
This is a custom and pretty sure shortest 1 ever built that will run. My moms favorite- short fat crazy indain woman burning the hair off her arms. Wish they had video phones back then. Range officer was like you need to take that shit away from her. Quite the fireball

Abdullah has no Cabelas nearby to pick up some Hoppe's and patches after a day of fighting. :) He lubricates with used motor oil. Then sharpens the knife he uses to behead infidels with a rock.

For the record... that gun oil that smells like bacon is not halal. It's not kosher either!

wanna sell it? I'm not sure why, but when I saw the first pic, my first thought is that I want it. lol. I really shouldn't even be asking, financially, but I'd find a way to make it work and still achieve what I'm trying to do.
