I drove 10.5 hours to Virginia to shoot with some friends from a 1911 site and found it this build doesn’t like Armscor ammo. Wouldn’t return to battery about 50% of the time. I didn’t spend much time investigating but I’m guessing the OAL was a bit long. So my boys burned through the remaining ammo in my PCC without issue. We proceeded to put 200 rds of NATO spec ammo and 60 rds of various JHP’s through the pistol without issue.

Another thing I learned is that my kids need jobs. Shooting 400 rds of 9mm, 700 rds 22lr, 300 rds of 45acp, 80 rds of 44mag and 200 rds of 556 ain’t cheap. It was fun though.

The 2 boys I took with me are 13 and 15. The 15 yr old is anxious to get a job. He’s definitely not afraid to work. When we lived in Illinois he volunteered at a horse riding stable for 2 summers. He ain’t afraid to shovel shit. Another thought I have is….. wait for it……..muzzle loaders, for them not me.
