I bought this Viridian torch to install on one of my home defense guns scattered around the house in small Vaultec safes. I was distracted by my last gig almost a year ago and never got around to installing it. Finding it tucked away yesterday was like getting an unexpected gift.
The cool thing about this light is it's rechargeable. It comes with the charger and also a small battery pack that can be used to quickly recharge the light on the go. Or a cell phone. Different and kinda cool in a market full of lookalikes. It also has a green laser built in. I'm not big on pistol lasers. Never have been. But maybe I will start thinking it's a good idea when I'm 90 and crapping in my pants. Newbs and geezers love lasers.
It took a couple of hours to charge it up. I haven't tested how long it takes to do the quick charge from the battery pack. The features of the light are typical. Bright, not so bright, and strobe. You can also select laser only, light only or both. It's universal fit and will work on any pistol or long gun with a rail. Most of my home defense pistols are full size.
I'll reiterate my POV on gun lights: Essential for home defense, ridiculous for EDC. LEOs and agencies do not put lights on guns. They carry flashlights and train for that technique. There may be some exceptions but they are few. Special teams often use lights and lasers on carbines and subguns in CQB situations.
