Has anyone tried to reshape a Polymer 80 frame to fit a Glock holster?

If so, how'd it go?

I know P80 holsters exist, but it would be nice to have increased cross compatability instead of extra holsters.

I've put a P80 SC into a vedder G26 holster and it works fine. Vedder offers tested options for the Full Size and compact P80s. From experience the compact size P80 offering works good.

The "problem" is that holsters are a very personal thing. If you have a Glock holster that works for you, try the same P80 in it and see. I like one version of the Vedder, for example, but another doesn't work for me so it is a pretty difficult landscape to navigate in my opinion. From experience too, a Vedder grips each gun a little differently - my Taurus G2C won't slip out when turned upside down whereas a P80 compact in a P80 specific holster from them will. Mind you, not picking on Vedder as it is my EDC holster, just pointing out the variability.

While were on the topic, have you ever tried putting a Glock in a P80 holster? I'm wondering if a P80 holster might be an easier route since the trigger guard is smaller on a Glock, and then maybe P80 holsters might be more universal for P80's and Glocks.

I've also heard a size up, as in a G20 holster will fit any P80 frame except the PF45.

P80 trigger guards are a bit wider than Glock or Lone Wolf frames.

This is something I was able to find in my archives without a lot of looking. Dagger and LW on the left. P80 on the right.

If the holster is Kydex, just warm the trigger guard area of the holster with a heat gun on low setting. If you heat it too much, the Kydex wants to return to its original shape, so just a little heat and insert the gun. I was able to make a G43 holster fit my PF9SS this way. Took less than a minute.

I had not. I did just try putting my Gen2 G19 into a Vedder and it does not properly fit - the trigger guard is not completely covered. The Vedder was made for a P80 Compact, so probably not a fair comparison. I don't have a Gen3 G19 to try, just P80s.

I have worked on a couple of PF940 frames to get them into a Glock synthetic duty holster with good results. Most of my holsters are leather and the P80 frames go into them without modification.
I have several expensive holsters, yet my favorite holster is a $45 Texas 1836 leather holster. I believe Texas 1836 is the name of the company. It's my favorite because it is the most comfortable, by far, hides with the best if them and doesn't utilize any wedges or wings to achieve extra concealment.
They're well made too. It's not cheap flimsy leather either. Great holster, IMO.
Oh, I forgot. The holster will fit any Glock, a P30SK, P80s, and more. Fits them quite well too.
Looks a lot like this Texas 1836 holster:

I put Ulticlips on mine, which sit about 1/4"-3/8" above the top of the clips it came with, which helps it sit a little deeper.

I dealt with the same thing for my PF9SS, having to trim the trigger guard tip and then the inside of my Safariland G43 holster to clear the rail under the barrel.
My 940C fit the Blackhawk G19 holster with no trimming/modifying to either. Every search other I did said that theP80 940C would fit most G19 holsters with no problem. The Blackhawk holster I have uses a block on the rail to latch into the holster and if I put the block on my P80 full size it works in the same holster as well. Otherwise you most likely need to get a holster for aG20/21 to fit a full size P80.
Hope this helps.

A Glock 19 or a 17 will fit inside a holster made for a p80 but when you build a p80 even if the slide you choose is one close to a Glock OEM slide style the height from the slide down to the picatinny rail is taller so if you want to alter the holster form you need to use a heat gun to heat the holster mainly in the area around the picatinny rail and along the top area of the slide. You must preferably have the foam used to press down the kydex on the gun to get the best shape possible, it can be done but you need patience and it might take a couple of tries.

Don’t touch your p80 frame.

You can slightly reshape a leather holster without wrecking it by putting in a strong ziplock freezer-type bag and warming it in pan of hot water. When the leather is warm and pliable, insert your pistol wrapped in another plastic bag into the holster and let it cool. Repeat if you need to.

This wont transform a holster made for another type of handgun, but the difference between a P80 and a Glock is subtle. It's a game of millimeters to get the P80 to fit.

This is similar to the process for molding the 1791 Ultra Custom holster. They work. I've done two of them now.

Warming up a leather holster or even soaking it in water works. Just make sure to wrap the pistol in a plastic bag or plastic wrap to protect it. The trick here is being patient and letting the holster cool/dry all the way before removing the pistol.

I find that a good hair dryer works best for me when reshaping kydex holsters. I did that to a 940C holster to fit my Canik Elite SC. There wasn't much difference between the two other than around the trigger guard.
