That seems pretty scary to be running those acceleration tests to those speeds >240 kph (149 mph) on open roads with other traffic. . .AT NIGHT! Impressive acceleration, though. :oops:
 
I've had dozens of water-cooled and a few air-cooled VWs in my lifetime, including a Thing. :) Mk1s to Mk5s. Around a dozen Cabrios/Cabriolets. Current DDs are GLI and EOS, both 6MT. ;)

It's in Germany. I would imagine they do that on the Autobahn where, if not entirely safe, at least it's legal.
 
I miss my Subaru STi. It was FAST. I routinely ran with the Porsche 911s on the track.

Yes, I've driven the Autobahn and large portions of the Autobahn has no limit on speed. Not sure if that was the Autobahn or not, but I didn't say anything about legality! We all know that legal and safe are not the same thing, or even the right thing in all situations, particularly a night. YMMV.
