How many of you have used one of these?

DM me the answer. I don't know/

Not in decades... I am trying to think if I still have one. I'll look around tomorrow.

Maybe I should have started a poll....

A bull banding tool?

IUD extractor?

Barb wire fence tool?

A tool for an old school VW Beetle...because the Germans always engineered shit to require a special tool. 😯

Old school tool for disassembly/assembly of drum brakes.

You do not know how lucky you are today until you drive an old car with non power drum brakes. o_O

RIP brake spring pliers...or good riddance!

This is the next best thing I could find.

I had a three old Chevys at different times. A '65 Bel Air a 62 'Biscayne I (both train wrecks from my college years) and later a '56. But I never worked on the brakes. The '56 was a resto project my brother and I worked on together. I'll never do that again.

I have a t-handled tool with a hook on the end for putting brake shoe springs on old motorcycles. But I dont recall ever using that tool in the pic.

I guess I was lucky to not put out an eye from flying brake springs. Alway meant to get one of those. Thankfully I haven’t worked on drum brakes in the last quarter century or so.

I have both versions shown in this thread.

Don't toss them. Many rear disk brakes have a drum brake for the parking brake. I have kept cars long enough to change the drum shoes. Trailer brakes too.

I have drum brakes, actually I have zero power everything. Streering is the only thing that would be nice to have power when getting in/out of these tiny parking spots these days.

I had a driver in Bangalore who decorated his car with rope tassels something like yours. He and his brother operated several Tuk Tuks.

I had to take the parking brake drums off a Subaru in order to get to the wheel bearings. There is an almost forgotten sub-set of salty language reserved for drum brake service. Refresher complete for me.

Spend some time in the PI did you Michele? My sister had a 60's Chevy sedan with no power steering. A lot of steering wheel turning for a little wheel movement. Those knobs have been illegal on passenger cars in my state for as long as I can remember. I had a boat awhile back and the first thing I added was a knob to the helm. My way of sticking it to the man. Law didn't say anything about boats.

Ask Santa for a Disc brake and power steering upgrade for Christmas. These are simple to do as you just swap the old for the new parts and re-assemble. Check the control arm bushings while it's apart. If they are 1960's vintage, install new ones while everything is apart.
With P/S and P/B, it will seem like a new truck.
