OEM vs KNOCKOFF updated 1/3/24

Yay! This is a fantastic resource! Glad to see it available again!

Hahaha! The first word I was gonna type was Yay! But, I see someone beat me to the punch. So, Yay! Again.
A picture is a thousand words. Thanks Michele for posting this up again. I have a few things from the old forum that I may share once I surf around a bit here to see what is here already.

I wish I had a digital version of the Glock parts reference list that was originally done on an excel spreadsheet. I only have a hard copy that I've scribbled notes and prices on. I never downloaded the original file and saved it. It is a very useful sheet showing all the OEM part numbers for all the Poly 80 frames.

@usapat Look through the resource center there’s some MGB reposts there.
Sure will welcome anything you may have to add. I have a couple other things I haven’t posted yet but don’t think I have the parts spread sheet. That would be a great asset here. Welcome home sir !

@Michele Maybe I will rebuild the spreadsheet in in all its glory, but I'm not an Excel guru.

If I do decide to do it, would you be willing to look over the part numbers compared to a scanned original PDF here that I have? I would send you by PM a scanned copy of my paper version here along with the new Excel sheet version. The PDF would have all my scribbled notes on the page. Multiple eyeballs are better when checking for typos and Excel has all the dang autocomplete formulas baked into it which makes things prone for typos. I HATE autocomplete for that very reason. It is a major reason I haven't tackled rebuilding the sheet for sharing. I just keep my hard copy paper version with all the notes on it for my personal use.

Sure, I’d be happy to check it out. The community sure would benefit from that great info
I've made a lot of headway on this today. It's late, but I hope to have it completed tonight sometime. Then it needs proofing privately for part numbers before public release.

I’m standing by to give you a hand sir. 👍🏻😊
It's basically done now. Just wrapped it up. There are a few font adjustments I need to make so that text fits in the cells correctly and then I'll dump a PDF to you to help proof it. I just saw the 50 Cal thread with your parts list. I do not have that on the list. But, I think it covers everything else.

Had the head of a non-OEM firing pin snap off on a range trip a couple of weeks ago. Never again. I wish I would've listened when I first started building and gone OEM only. In my defense, at the time (during Covid) OEM parts were VERY scarce. As I've said in other posts, If I were advising a new builder, I'd tell them to do something that I didn't..... "Document every part in your build!"

It can happen with OEM Factory firing pins, too. Ask me how I know!
