Thought I'd give the other thread a rest. lol...Anyways, I've procured the Reptilia ACRO saddle mount, and yesterday, this little unit arrived that I ordered through my LGS...the new Burris Fastfire E (in red dot). Seems to be a gem.

What I'm trying to find is how many inch pound I torque the two saddle mount screws (with some loctite blue)- Alex (or Bongo L) do you have any idea of a ballpark torque value for these? There's nothing at the Reptilia site about these values for this mount. I just picked up a Torque Screwdriver to do the job RIGHT, btw.

13in/lb to the slide (or 1301 receiver I'm assuming).
Thank you, FrankenGlock!

Duh the FF E has the torque spec in the manual. The Reptilia did not have anything included in the box except the mount itself with zero documentation. Kewl. Installed tonight. WOOT!

Ordered the green dot at first, but after short consideration, changed it to the red dot while I was placing the order. I figure red is not only less draw in the battery, but red IMO is also better for this intended purpose on this particular 1301.

jazzed! I like this enclosed red dot. big time. And the red dot appears to be dead-on with the peep sights. I was also encouraged to find that there is a 'system shutdown' so you don't have to have the thing "on" 24/7. Startup is very simple and fast.

Here's a quick n dirty pic of the 1301 receiver with the FF E mounted.

Nice!

I am very disappointed in Beretta choosing to make the screw spacing for the 2 mount locations different. That setup might be even nicer if you could put the ghos+ ring in front of the dot.

Looking good!

I held the 1301 and the A300 at last weekend’s gun show and was surprised at both of their weight. Fairly light for a semi-auto shotgun. I was really looking at the 300 but, now I think the 1301 has taken the first slot on the wish list.

For me, it works fine the way it is. I understand where you're coming from, but so far I don't have a problem with the current arrangement. We'll see.

Have you shot this thing yet? It is rapidly falling down the totem pole of new guns... 🧐

Here's something new, who will be the first kid on the block with it?

The vaporware press release sounds good, we will see how it is in practice. I have become kinda fond of the Howie Tape holding together my LTT handguard and still have lots of it in reserve. But a textured aluminum one piece forend with an integrated heatshield and M-LOKs galore does sound like the cat's meow.
👌🤌🤙👍🏻🙌

Would be nice if they also had mlok at 6 o clock mounting points. Say, near the font of the forend.

We’ve a planned power outage here right now, so we’re on impulse power (weak cell signal only) until 7:30 am or sooner, I hope…

Btw we’re chomping at the bit as you can well imagine tor some range time!

Have you considered nixing the rear sight?

Ive been super happy with the Zhukov hand guard. No rattle or slop fits snug and is just the right amount of gruff without being a cheese grater like the OEM.

Not yet. Let's see how I feel about it after a range outing. Right now, that red dot is dead-center of the peep, and overlays the front sight.

You may find that co-witness isn’t essential on that gun. The red dot grew on me on tactical shotguns. I resisted at first.

I found co-witnessed irons to be detrimental to my usage of the optic on my shotgun and got rid of as much of the iron sight setup as possible. I don't want anything in my sight picture other than the reticle.

Illuminated etched reticle optics totally changed how I set up my guns. The etched reticle is visible in the brightest of light as it is backlit by the target area. In darkness the reticle illumination still gives a perfectly usable sight picture. This really "shines" in an environment with rapidly changing light levels, such as shooting in darkness with the flash of gunshots occurring or in conjunction with a hand held flashlight that may not be as steady as I like, or even engaging targets while moving from daylight to darkness, such as around buildings. I constantly struggle with this when trying to use a dot equipped handgun. My dream is for etched reticles to make it into handgun optics, until then I am an iron sight shooter. 😑

I'm happy with a red dot on a tactical shotgun. I don't hunt big game with shotguns (slugs) so a scope is of no real value to me.

I am intrigued by the new crop of shotgun suppressors though.

Anton Chiguth concurs with you.
No surprise. In a sense, I was also roach hunter at one time. But not a fictitious character. More of a detector than hunter, but in the end having no sympathy for the roach is essential to doing your job.

A super handy video user guide to your gun.

It is especially important to figure out how to get it into cruiser ready state as that was not super intuitive. I got caught flat footed a couple of times trying to get one into to the chamber in a hurry when starting with an empty gun with the hammer at rest. Dummy rounds are great for loading and unloading practice. 👌

I may differ later on, but right now that red dot sets dead square with that OEM peep as if it was dialed-in for it. Since it’s a red dot and not a reticle, I’m not seeing any interference …yet.
