Potential trade. Kahr K9

Nope. He prefers 'wheel' guns.
Bwahaha! How did I miss the obvious!??

Kahr you paying attention?

I have been looking all over for an E9 to complete my metal Kahr collection. Found one and it's local. Some guy traded it in. Looks like it's hardly been used at all. Definitely not carried. Not a mark on it. Clean as a whistle inside too, so I assume it sat in somebody's safe for years.

The main difference between the E9 and K9 is the frame. Steel vs. stainless. The E9 was intended to be the less expensive model.

I guess that completes the set. These metal Kahrs are simple and unadorned, but they are one of the softest and flat-shooting small 9mm handguns I have ever shot. Everything you need in a carry gun and nothing you don't.

Very noice!! FWIW I think I’m done with the polymer pistols. I’ll keep what I have that I like (Echelon for one, my 26 clone is another) but I want to return to metal frames, whether steel, stainless or alloy. I had a Rock Island .45 ACP Officers’ clone in my mitts today at the LGS, and loved it, even though it’s just a basic spec .45. D&L makes a load with a newly-designed bullet that gives exemplary wadcutter performance in a 200gr bullet that will cycle dependably in Autos…they have my attention, but I digress.

Similarly to your findings on shooting the Kahr, I have a SIG P938 that shoots amazingly tame for its small size. Have always wanted a Kahr. Maybe someday. Cheers, BL.

I like my 40 cal pistols. But I have a self imposed moratorium on acquiring more.

The long grip and short barrel on that K40 is my kinda gun. I'll bet it shoots well. Just heavy enough to tame the snappy .40.

That K40 was my first "serious" caliber gun that I bought for myself, way back in 1995. It was my EDC for many years. It's heavy for it's capacity, but no too heavy to carry comfortably and it shoots so nice! The extended ported barrel makes a small but noticeable difference in muzzle flip. That gun just fits my hand beautifully. And the Elite trigger is soooooo smooth! It's one of the last guns I'd ever part with.

Agree on the trigger. I think the Elite trigger is now on all their pistols.

For those not indoctrinated in Kahrology, the Kahr system uses a rotating cam to compress the striker spring via a transfer bar, while simultaneously engaging the striker-block safety. The pull that you feel on the trigger is the actual compression of the firing pin spring. As the cam rotates, the sear slips off of it then the firing pin makes the gun go bang. It's a brilliantly simple design. And no need for drop testing!

My K40 was made before the Elite series. So I upgraded the trigger to the Elite, and polished the slide flats to give it a 2-tone polished/matte finish. Then I added the beautiful checkered wood grips with stainless hex grip screws, and the extended ported barrel. It was my EDC for 15 years. With 7 in the gun and 7 in the spare mag, I never felt under-gunned.

Kahr is definitely not a brand with a huge accessory market. Where did you get that extended/ported barrel?

My 'standard' K9 has the older trigger. Shortening the travel by 1/8 inch is not a big deal to me but I may upgrade that to the Elite sometime down the road.

I got the barrel off of Kahr's website. I don't think they offer it for 9mm.
