Got a little bored and decided to dye my Dagger frame. The color is "Racing Red". Michael's was running a 40 percent off coupon, so it came to like $3 for the dye. I initially tried using only half the bottle, but the dye wasn't penetrating well, so I used the entire bottle. The polymer of the Dagger frame is definitely different from a standard Polymer80 frame. The P80 frame I dyed soaked up the dye instantly. The Dagger took much longer . I had to really let it soak for a while to get this color.

Save used dye water. I saved them in gallon milk jugs, still have dye left after a year of occasional use.

So more deets, plz:
Do you disassemble before soak?
Do you have to boil the dye?
How long to dry?
Does it rub off on your hands?

Very unique--I like it! (y)

No I didn't disassemble. I scrubbed the frame with dawn and an old toothbrush. I boiled some water, then transferred it to a home depot bucket outside. I put the frame and dye in, and stirred it around with a set of metal tongs until I liked the color. Took the frame out to dry outside , then brought back inside and scrubbed with toothbrush and soap under hot water. Dye does not come off on your hands.
