Sig of Sig Haters

Yea. Anybody who claims to be pro gun who makes a statement like he did is suspect in my mind.

The dude does appear to do some artsy gun related 3d printing - too bad he didnt just stay in his lane.

BTW: All of those recent posts by that guy are regurgitated. Almost two years old. It's obviously another one of these influencer things where he's trying to make money by playing Glock and Sig fanbois on social media. This story is not only old, it's a big nothingburger. Sig is not changing the design because some pretend gunsmiths bent the ejector using mags not made for the gun. The me too people.... what-ever.

The two early production P320s in the photo have somewhere between 4 to 6 thousand rounds thru them (each) and haven't been babied. 3-4 different people besides me carried and practiced with them (thru my former biz) without issue for around 5 years. Even though they did not fail or show any indication of negligent discharge, I did send them in for the free 'safety' upgrade Sig offered in 2017. The ejectors in both are in perfect condition. Only Sig factory mags were used. How is it these guns were immune? I'll tell you. Not operated by monkeys. :)

Well now. More interesting commentary from the guy that says the Sig P320 is not worthy.

I just re-read it. And I misunderstood! He's really saying the same thing I'm saying.

In other words, the ONLY way to enact constitutional gun control is to repeal the 2A. It's the only "gun control" that he would "respect," because it's the only way to enact LEGAL gun control... with an amendment.

He recognizes, like we do, that it would be very difficult (if not practically impossible) to do that.

That's not how I interpret his comment. It strikes me as a double entendre. Like saying, "She plays for the other team", adding "Not that there's anything wrong with that". Because they don't want to be perceived as judgmental, politically incorrect, or hold an unpopular view. Thus the Seinfeld parody.

When somebody makes a bold statement then says "I obviously disagree", that's usually a tell. Unless it's sarcasm. And there's no sign of sarcasm here.

I'm not suggesting he's anti gun. But I am suggesting he speaks with forked tongue. He panders. An entertainer. Not an expert. That's my main point. He has no credibility evaluating any gun design - Sig or any other - but his posts on this topic inspire a lot of clicks. Even though it's old news. People have short memories. Most dont realize this is content form two years ago, recycled.

If he were a hot girl and not a Pillsbury doughboy who wears LL Bean pullovers from 1979, he would be on OnlyFans. :).

It seems Sig has done a stealth product revision to the OEM P320 mags to attempt to address over insertion.
The change is to the 21 and 30 round baseplates.

This is the best way to tell a safe from an unsafe P320 21rd mag.

The old "unsafe" magazine has a chamfer depth of 8.5mm

1737827058322.png

The new safe magazine has a chamfer depth of 7mm

Some Reddit posts claimed that these magazines had damaged their guns, others claimed they were perfectly safe.
Other than the chamfer depth, the magazines are identical. Even down to the markings on the inside of the baseplate.
It turns out they were both right and the culprit was DELIBERATE obfuscation of the issue by Sig.
Sig knows about this issue and has attempted to hide it.

Do or Die.

Or they just want the whiners and people purposely trying to make the gun fail to prove it is defective for the past two years to shut up.

Covering up a defect.... covertly changing something to do so... would open them up to spectacularly expensive lawsuits. Perhaps a class action. Sig lawyers would have sign off on that risk. So would the board of directors. That would not happen.

It doesn’t occur to anyone Sig changed the mag after realizing dumbasses abusing the gun and haters were creating bad mojo for the P320 and its derivatives?

Seriously.... This whole thing still smells like internet bullshit spread by drama lovers and MeToo’s. If it's on Reddit and YouTube it must be true? The MSNBC of threaded discussion groups.

If Sig determined the claims to be true and didn't recall the old mags, that would be the dumbest and most scandalous thing they have ever done. Perhaps the great legal minds on Reddit have inside information. Or too much time on their hands, what with all the confusion about what's going to happen with TikTok. These are trying times.

It's fascinating to witness how certain segments of the gun community fancy themselves as consumer advocates. And they tend to be right fighters. They just have to be right. Kings of confirmation bias. The last time I saw something on the scale of this recent Sig hating was the "Glock Leg" advocates. Before that the "plastic fantastic" crowd who thought polymer guns were a fad. The old farts who hate anything that isn't a 1911 are still shaking their fist in the air and holding their pants up with the other. Beretta's that didnt work in sand gets an honorable mention.

Me... I dont give a fuck. If I decided I didn't like Sig pistols or thought they were defective I would get rid of them and buy something else. I wouldn't spend two years in my basement justifying my dislike and making up tests to prove my theory. I've shot just about every Sig ever made and never broken one. The manner in which my duty weapons were used was far more punishing than an occasional trip to the range.

And for the record, In the course of my adventures and number of rounds in the six figure range I have never experienced Glock Leg, actually seen a squib occur, had a negligent discharge or accidentally shot myself. Or someone else. But I have shot people on purpose. Lucky for me the weapon worked every time.

Then there are the GLOCK PERFECTION fanboys that act like smokeless cartridges were just invented and at the request of the late Gaston. Pfft.

I've had some heated exchanges (on the other end) contending the 320 is an unsafe POS "because of all the internet reports, yada yada.."

whatever. I still want one with the Wilson Grip Module. Maybe someday. My immediate focus, for me, is elsewhere.

After spending the day in a GE plastics plant, I'm sitting in a bar in Albany NY and the guy next to me strikes up a conversation. He eventually gets around to telling me that he's invented a new solar powered system that heats water which in turn can be used to create energy - electricity and hot water for heating.

Of course he doesnt know that at the time I'm a licensed professional engineer that works in the process manufacturing biz - which often finds me me in refineries or power plants. So I have a fairly good command of the laws of physics and thermodynamics. I didn't disclose this and just let him go on. It was a terrific story and I must say he was good at spinning a yarn and doing it convincingly.

It's so much more entertaining to listen to bullshit in person. On social media... It quickly goes into overload. Who knew the world has so many experts? Social media has eliminated the need for anyone to have qualifications or experience to earn that title. Psychologists are going to make this a phenomenon a field of study in the future.

For the record, I happen to know that brand of chewing gum is best. It's Bazooka. Four out of five dentists don't know what they are talking about.

Lena hasn't broken her P320. She shoots 2-3000 rounds a month. On the other hand, she could be part of some vast conspiracy.

We live in an age where scum bags with an agenda and people who aren't very bright can make shit up, post it on social media and earn money doing it.

This Sig thing is a bunch of bullshit. The P320 does not "go off" by itself. This has repeatedly been found to be false in court. With paid experts on both sides. These experts can't make it negligently discharge. But some bozo on YouTube can.

Yes, you can damage the extractor if you use the wrong mags and abuse the gun. That's not a design flaw. It's jackassery. People who are so in love with a brand and themselves that they spew baseless lies to get clicks suggests to me an ethical lapse. And those who repeat their bullshit have a low IQ.

I got lambasted pretty good, here, for bringing up the 320 as an interest lol. I didn't buy the negative reports then and I still don't, fwiw.
