I got this from watching a Wilson Combat video with Ken Hackathorn. He explained that trying to precisely put a black front sight on a traditionally black target / bullseye is difficult. If you're off-center a bit, it's hard to see it without any contrasting colors.
In the video, he demonstrated an inverted black triangle on a white background. It's a lot easier to center your front sight on the bottom tip / apex of the triangle.
I couldn't find any commercially available inverted triangle targets. So, I opened "Publisher" on my laptop and made one of these targets.
Attached is a downloadable pdf of the target I made that you can print on plain 8.5 X 11" paper. Click on the attachment at the bottom of this post to download.
I played a bit with it yesterday with the Colt Python. It was shooting high, so I walked it down. It wasn't my best day of shooting, and I'm not quite used to a 3-lb gun!
