I see all aluminum "snap caps" being marketed as snap caps, yet I believe those are for function checking and not for extended dry firing.
An appropriate snap cap seems it should have something to cushion the blow from the firing pin.

I'm bringing this up because I could be raising awareness to at least one person to seek better snap caps.

I don't see how bashing one's firing pin into aluminum repeatedly could be a good thing for the tip of the firing pin.
