As they say in LA... Orange is the new black

Non-lethal? Hardly. She's getting an orange ACRO with a B&T quick release mount. The receiver is drilled and tapped for a Pic rail, which is also Cerakoted in the nickel color.

Mossberg 590 in nickel Cerakote and Magpul orange furniture

I have been waiting on this optic for months. It's supposed to arrive next week.

The orange optic is way cool and will look perfect on it! Available from the factory that way? Or did you have it customized?

It's an unusual special edition from Acro. Pleasantly unexpected. I customized the shotgun.

I read an article months ago they were doing this and also the partnership with Glock. So I signed up for notification.

So, is this for the hunter who leaned his camo wrapped shotgun against the tree while taking a leak and then couldn't find it, or is it destined for marine service? 😋

Boat gun. I found a cool mount for it. Attached to the center console t-top. It works great. I put that shotgun together about 2 years ago.

The retention on the mount is more than adequate. The owner of the mount company told me the Coast Guard uses these ... but who knows. That fact that it's orange was pleasantly coincidental.

I keep a cheap 9mm SCCY (also orange) and 2 spare mags on the boat in a small Pelican case

Just in case a wildlife ranger asks... I have a box of 12 gauge flares on the boat. On the water... it's always safety first. :)

Optic arrives tomorrow. Thinking about a Mossberg 590 mag extension. Two add'l shells. Vang Comp. All steel. Won't dent like thin aluminum. Comes with a new spring and stainless follower.

Also...

To go from 8 lbs to 4.5... schweet! Got to have to trigger discipline for that. Works on a shockwave too.

Don't shoot your foot off, pilgrim!

It's a shame they don't offer this for the 1301 Tac Mod 2. Then again, the steel underlying mag tube should be robust enough.

ACRO optic just arrived. All the way from Sweden!

Added Scorpion Gear shot shell carrier. The ACRO is bonerific.

Once the mag extension arrives the final touch will be black Vickers sling.

The shell carrier is Tactical Scorpion Gear. I like the way it's built. Metal backing screwed on and the steel carrier is a tough injection molded plastic, which is in turn fixed to the back plate with six screws.

I printed one ages ago on my first gen Makerbot - but it broke. Too brittle. My shotguns, especially when I use them 'professionally' take a beating. Or in training and matches.

I gave up trying to keep 'working guns' looking nice long ago. In a way, for a lot of gun owners it's a handicap. Now and then in training I have observed a habit of not wanting to drop a cherished rifle or shotgun in the dirt and draw the pistol. Or vice versa. As in taking the time to set it down. No kidding. It's common to covet your firearms vs. think of them as tools. This is why durability and reliability is a central theme for me. Fancy does nothing for me.
