Tempted by the Frame of Another - Geisler Transparent Frame!

Well, darn. I bought their upper completion kit. I think I'll return it. What's a good choice to go with? I really don't need the extractor or the back plate, as I already ordered those separately. I'm just looking for an easy/affordable way to make sure I get all the pieces I need to build out the slide.
I have no issues with any LWD parts. I have installed them in at least 20 guns.
KMT well, I have had a couple of tolerance related issues. But those were on AR's and they went away after break in was complete.

You might try mixing some pearl clear in with a silver paint.
That should help matching the clear frame.

I'm not that talented with paint. Plus, I want to stick with unadulterated Cerakote for its durability.

More parts ordered: Barrel, lower completion kit, parts to complete the slide, Cerakote

I get most of my OEM factory parts from Midway USA.
Me too. Start an account and state your birthday (what ever date is most convenient). You will get special pricing on that date, also a little bit off your first order on a new account.
Big Tex is another great one to do business with.

Oh yeah! I've got a birthdate coming up! I thought they offer the birthday discount every year. I can't start a new acct, since I have a long-established old account.

They do have a nice discount. I'm kicking myself because I forgot all about the Garmin chrony last birthday. Not sure if that is covered but it would have definitely would have been a Buy if it was on sale. Those are almost never on sale. I did stock up on a few small parts and a knife.

Near your birthday, the prices are automatically adjusted sitewide. It's automatic and one order per birthday. I couldn't go back and see if the Garmin was discounted. On your birthday, see if it shows discounted. Doesn't do me any good but I'm curious. My kid has a birthday next month, it might be time for a Midway account.

I'll keep an eye out (next month).

More parts!!! Of course, the slide is the most exciting part. It's a G34 length in "raw" stainless. I think I'm going to leave the textured panels raw and polish the rest of the slide.

I also got a bunch of little parts:

A polished stainless extractor from Rock Your Glock:

Stainless extended slide release from Ghost.

"Diamond cut" pins from Tyrant.

Some extra pins, slide lock & mag release from NDZ. after I ordered this mag release, I found a modular release in silver that I'll probably use instead.

Are you using an extra long G19 based barrel, modifying your locking block setup, or modifying the G34 barrel? Sorry if I missed that explanation.

Out of an abundance of caution but, just in case, you will need a 19XL barrel like this one

Also, the Gen 5 34 barrel will work on the Gen 3 19 locking block.

This will fill the gap.

I found a few pics of completed clear G19X frames. Seems most are going for high contrast to take advantage of the clear frame. I'm sticking with as much clear and silver as I can to make the gun appear like and ice mirage.

Man, that looks good.

So, I'm taking that to mean they don't have / make truly clear mags.... just "smoky?"
I saw some clear clear, not smokey clear at DVOR the other day. If I find them again, I'll post a link,

I saw those too but, if I recall correctly, they were for a 19 and this one takes 17 size magazines. T
From what I've dug up I would need:
  • The 19 x frame
  • 34 slide
  • LWD adapter/gap filler
  • Extended guide rod from LWD
  • Gen 5 34 barrel - the lug fits the Gen 3 locking block and the barrel fits inside the 34 slide (I found one from Zaffiri that I like)
Missed this post, you are on it!

Yep, you're right, I just found them. I also found the second link, but am thinking both might only be clear in picture, but are smoked too.

I found a few of the Strike mags in stock and almost bought them, before I realized they are only 15s. Strike describes them as a clear smoked color. Plus, they look to be a bit frosted. Overall, they look like cool mags, just not what I'm after for this build.

Got a cool little bit today. It's a no-name brand modular mag release from Fleabay. The only one I could find that is completely silver. I've ordered a silver replacement for the black bolt that holds the pieces together. I think it looks pretty sweet in the clear frame.

That looks like it's sticking out quite a bit from this angle. But the photo may be deceiving.
