To be quite frank, that's kinda why I posted it!I like the way you think! I'll get that proposal in front of the House Ways and Means Committee (Mrs. Warhammer) ASAP!
Like Dave, my first compressor was 80 gallons for paint work and other things. One of those "buy once, cry once" things you never regret.
When you're selling the compressor idea, tell her that you will do a lot of dusting in the house with it. Drag the air line into the house with a few blower tips both short and long and it does an excellent job dusting and vacuuming the floor, bookshelves and furniture in about 5 minutes. Just open the front door and blow it outside.
Seriously, I did this on occasions. Lots of dog hair and dust where I used to live because it was a dirt path on the property near the house for our cars. Works way better than moving shit around to get to the dust. You just gotta sell the redneck aspects to the wife.
In hindsight, if I ever build another place to live, I'm gonna plumb air lines in the walls out of thick schedule 80 into several rooms. It's cheap and you can always use air for stuff blowing keyboards or whatnot. Just regulate the air in one place for the house and crank it down. Racer could work at his desk and have air nearby to blow shit out and clean. Easy to do if building a custom home an way cheaper than electrical or plumbing work. The other thing I would add is a an oil change pit below the floor of the shop in one stall for inspecting cars and oil changes and simple fixes. All you gotta do is dig it in and lay concrete when you pour the shop slab. When you're old like Carter, you'll be able to change your oil.
