The dumbest holster design ever?

It does seem odd. It precludes you from using the rails to mount a light or laser. The weight of the attachment could be interesting to keep recoil down, but I wouldn't want to attach something to my gun just to holster it.

In 20 years of having pistols with rails, I've attached exactly 0 things to a rail. This seems like a minimalist solution for a holster. I'm going to keep my eye on these.

Personally, I would NEVER consider attaching 1/2 a holster to the rail of my pistol so I could use a holster. Deal-breaker for me. But the rest of the "holster" looks very flimsy, as well. It also looks like it would be easy to "miss" reholstering.

True, it also looks as if the slide could get bumped back causing some sort of out of battery position. At least the trigger areas appears to be protected!?

The whole thing just looks like shit to me. I cannot imagine attaching something (especially that monstrosity) to a gun just so it could connect to a holster. I don't see any advantages. It's just weird. And I'd want my gun more protected / covered.

First thing I thought was an under the desk/counter mount or a vehicle mount.

About the only thing I've attached to a pistol rail is a Cheapnese laser to my G30. Stayed on for about 5rds at the range before it fell off. Got it back home and drilled and installed a pin into the laser housing which did the trick. Somehow light got switched on and killed the batteries, I removed it and never put it back.

As for flashlights I prefer to hold it in my hand separate of the pistol.

Yeah……..uhm, no thanks. The “holster” itself rides way too low for a cover garment. You would need a long ass T-shirt ! Interesting concept but, they need to go back to the drawing board with this one. Just my $0.02

If you've seen the price of some of the IPSC/IDPA custom setups this is pretty slick. You can be the tacticoolist guy at the range. 90% of holsters preclude using lights and lasers anyway. As I get older I really appreciate the modern gizmos like red dots and lasers. I wouldn't have a home defense firearm without a light at the absolute minimum. This is my 357sig enhanced service shoulder rig
