The FNH PS90 Diary.

Aimpoint is the best relfex sight made. You won't be disappointed. Combat rugged.

Aimpoint T2 is ordered! Direct from Aimpoint, since they offer a nice military veteran's discount.

I also ordered this case! I couldn't resist (I recently learned about them).

I ordered through Amazon:

But here is their website: Peak Case

If I like it as much as I think I will.... They've got one for the Shockwave, too!

Those precut, closed cell cases are nice! Gun specific. I have the type that fits in Pelican cases. Way better than pick and pluck foam type that falls apart and doesnt match the gun contours.

Then there's these. You can put on a fedora and get your Edward G Robinson on. NOTE: This is a pic of a miniature

These aren't 'fitted' but work great for concealing PCCs and subguns. For those times you don't want people to know you are heavy. Dont forget the shorts, polo shirt and court shoes. :)

I enjoy tennis. This is why I prefer it over the grannies playing pickleball.

Aimpoint T2 arriving today!

Got the Aimpoint T2! Had some trouble with removing one of the screws holding the OEM top rail on the PS90. But I put a soldering iron on the screw and was able to get it out.

I connected the T2 to the Design Machine mount. Then attached the mount to the PS90.

SWEET! I think it looks just right, too. It fits the looks of the rifle.

I'm headed to the range this morning to get things sighted in.

cool. planning on using the laser boresight to do that or the old fashioned way?
I'll try the laser. But in daylight at a distance, without magnification (1X optic), it can be hard to see the laser dot. It just occurred to me to use a plain white target that will reflect the green laser dot better.

I might consider zeroing at 50 yards for that gun. If you want to try out some long range shooting with it, 100 yds. But that gun and the 5.7x28 in my mind is an intermediate range weapon that is at its best in the 50-75 yard range. Or less. See chart 40 gr. Federal

The longer barrel (vs pistol) will improve the velocity a bit but it's not going to be like night and day.

That was my plan... 50 yard zero.

Zeroed first at 25 yards. Then re-zeroed at 50 yards.

Went back to the range today to meet some friends and play with the PS90 some more.

At 50 yards:

Then for the first time, stretch it out to 100 yards. With a 1X optic, 61 year old eyes, and a trigger that is the "suckage"... I'll take this result! Definitely "minute of center mass." Red center bullseye is 2-1/2" x 3-1/2".

It's a fun gun. But yeah... trigger suuuuuuuucks. For defensive type shooting accuracy, it's fine. But definitely not a precision type trigger.

well done! That gun is for filling the air with lead. I think your 100 yard performance with it is pretty good.

The case came today! Very nice bit of kit.

One thing I noticed when I picked it up by the handle is that it's a bit off-balance. The PS90 is slightly off to one side. I suppose it could be counter-balanced with some ammo placed in the pistol spot and the rectangular "free space" under the barrel.

I may custom cut this piece to make a tighter fit for the low-profile T2 optic.

I don't know what I can do with this piece, but it's kinda cool! If my son was still just a tyke, I could cut a trigger space out and make it a toy.

Save the foam. I use it for other things. Packing something to be shipped, use it in other, smaller cases. Best thing to cut it with is an old school electric kitchen carving knife. The factory makes those smooth cuts with a water jet.

BTW: It's not a bad idea to leave the case open for a couple of days. Spending on the type of foam, the residual water from cutting needs to evaporate. That's mainly with made to order inserts, but I thought it was worth mentioning. A damp case will rust a gun quickly.

Good suggestion / point! I've seen similar advice to not store guns in any kind of foam case.

Interestingly, this case came with a re-usable dessicant thingy.

Has it's own pocket in the case:

Or alternatively, I could store my John Wick "Gold Continental" coins in that round pocket! ;)

Though I would never store a gun in a case like this. That's what safes are for.
