Time to "Mup"... my Sig P320C clone build.

Off to a good start.... First frame jigged and the slide rails folded down. Pretty much following The Rogue Banshee guide with one exception... I didn't hammer the rails down. I chose to use a hydraulic press to fold them. Material is relatively soft so if folded nicely.

I have a late evening work schedule, so nothing is going to happen tonight. Probably pick this up again Thursday night and trim the rails to width.

I thought while reading through all of the different threads on making these that someone said to leave the top piece (the part that you hammer down the tabs with) in the jig to drill the holes. I am wondering if that’s how you did all of yours? I just bent my tabs and it’s quite tight in there. I am assuming that there is not much if any space between the top piece and the sides down in there, so when I drill I will have to also drill into that just to go all the way through the side of the MUP I am drilying.

I left the top piece in while drilling and I have drilled into it a bit from both sides. Figure that if your depth gauging is on par then you really only drill into it the first time. The subsequent MUPs you are just drilling into the open cavity from the first build.

Ok, thanks! I will leave it in then!

For anyone who has received a recent order from US Patriot Armory, what was the wait time on your order? I submitted an order for parts about a week ago, it's showing still "Processing". I'm not sure if the FCU parts kits are what is slowing it down or what. Anyway, I just wanted to know if orders from them take a little while. I'm patient when I know what to expect. :)

I placed a Labor Day Sale order on Sept 1 and picked it up Sept 10 at PO after I missed a Sept 9 delivery. It took them about a week to get it in the mail. I've ordered a number of things from them and I feel like a "week-ish" is about how long I have waited for them to ship.

Thank-you.

Sorry to keep bothering you on this build. Some of the little things are not lining up and I don’t want to mess it up. The take down safety lever pin for my mup is bigger than the #40 drilled hole. Not sure if I should file or sand it out until it fits or just hammer it in? I have watched a few YouTube videos and everyone on there when they install it , it just seems to slide in. Also what did you use to cut between the two holes where the other end of the safety lever goes. I used those diamond Dremel bits and it took my several hours and about 20 bits. Thanks for you help.

No bother at all. That's why we are gather here - to share knowledge of our experience. Yeah, all of the pins except that one clicked in as they should on both of mine (that's actually how I managed to mess up my first build - tried to force the pin in too hard so don't try hammering it in or you'll risk bending and bricking the MUP). I've ended up using pieces of sand paper to "roll" the pin in until it was small enough to fit in. I even got ahold of OEM pins which had the same issue, so guessing the bit is just a little under the tolerance such that a little extra is needed. The general rule on the P80s has been to modify the part not the frame, so follow that guidance. It takes some time.

For the "cut" I've used a Dremel with an engraving bit and more or less free handed it (slowly).

Awesome thank you!

Last little touch to my MUP-1.... the M17 gets a red-dot.

Found a used Delta Point so had to bolt it on to the M17 clone ;)

That is Schaweeet! If I ever purchase another striker-fired pistol, it will be the P320.

That thing looks amazing, clm2112!!
