So the wife is always watch cooking videos. Last weekend she ran across this cowboy making biscuits in a Dutch Oven over a campfire. She writes down the recipe to try. Tonight, we made them. Really quick and so easy even I was able to make light fluffy biscuits on my first try.
Two Ingredient Biscuits
2 Cups Self Rising Flour - sifted.
1.5 Cups Whipping Cream
Preheat oven to 400 degrees
In a bowl, mix the cream into the flour just until sticky.
Dump out on the counter and kneed 4-5 times folding the dough one way, then turn 90 degrees and fold again. Do overdo it or the biscuits will be tough.
Flatten by hand or with rolling pin to 1/2" thickness.
Use a biscuit cutter or pint beer glass to cut out the biscuits. Do not twist when you cut them out.
Baste the tops with whipping cream.
Bake in a cast iron skillet for 15 minutes. (We don't have a cast iron skillet, so we used the pizza stone already in the oven.)
Makes 8 decent size biscuits.
