Someone points a weapon, gun or knife, at you? The result should be two rounds in the center mass in less than 1.5 seconds. No discussions or warnings.

Yep, if you are drawing your weapon it should be for fear of serious bodily harm or death and as such firing shortly thereafter to me is an expectation under most circumstances.
