Its an older pic, but I caught a good candid shot of a squirrel on the trail camera behind the house. Picture won't "insert" for some reason. I tried.

Now here is a city/county possum in my backyard... he is a little bigger... lolSo my backyard is about an acre alone and backs up to a 3 acre pond with about 2 miles of public woods on the other side. I have turtles, snakes, etc.. all the typical stuff. Even a alligator that tends to frequent the pond. Last time I saw him he was about 5/6 feet long. However when I see possums, I pull out the AR. I live in a trailer/mobile home that's about 3 feet off the ground. Possums love to get under the house and cause plumbing issues that get expensive quick. This is only backyard wildlife picture I have. This was about 2 weeks ago. When i turned my weapon light on and spotted him, he started running. I got him full tilt run at about 60 yards.

After experiencing the cost of the plumbing related issues they cost, if he lived after that picture, you are far better person than me. Possums have cost me thousands in plumbing repairs. I now shoot on sight. I usually average 2/3 a month. I however don't live in the city. there is about 3 acres between me and my closest neighbor that happens to be a Louisiana State Trooper. When I shoot one, he'll usually text me asking how big it was. lolNow here is a city/county possum in my backyard... he is a little bigger... lol

I leave possums alone. They eat thousands of ticks, beetles and even roaches. They police your gardens and dont eat the plants. So my backyard is about an acre alone and backs up to a 3 acre pond with about 2 miles of public woods on the other side. I used to leave em alone. Then they pissed me off. They got under the house and cost me and my landlord lots of money and headaches. They were nesting under there and tore up piping, destroyed insulation, got into the walls, and tried chewing through the walls to get into the house at one point. Now they are shot on sight, no questions asked.I leave possums alone. They eat thousands of ticks, beetles and even roaches. They police your gardens and dont eat the plants.
I've had similar issues with raccoons. Your possums must be punks Even so, don't shoot critters as a rule. Only hogs and nutrias, because they are invasive species and wreak havoc on the ecosystem.I used to leave em alone. Then they pissed me off. Airgun. Pffft. Pffft. Yer dead.Ugh raccoons!! Had em in my attic back in Illinois. Fuckers ate a hole in my eves to get in. If I wasn’t in the middle of suburbia, they would have been shot.
Exactly. a good airgun can be both quiet and powerful. My .22Cal air rifle is more powerful at 50-100yds than my .22LR bolt rifle.Airgun. Pffft. Pffft. Yer dead.
