So, when the shit hit the fan over the opening ceremony, they said it was the Greek god Dionysus. It seems they were really mocking the Last Supper after all according to this French tourism website. The fat chick proclaimed herself as the Gay New Testament Jesus.
FRENCH OLYMPICS, rev. 1 - I love art. I have been to Paris multiple times, and my second favorite museum is d'Orange. (Favorite museum remains Rome's Borghese Gallery; check out my 2014 photo album!)
And I have no problem with celebrating western civilization and the birthplace of democracy, and the Olympics, complete with the pagan Greek gods, so long as it is kept as appreciation and not worship. I've even worn a toga or two in my life, and lifted a glass in mock homage to Bacchus in my college days. (And yes, I've run a race on the original stadium in Olympia, shown in another album in 2017.)
All of that is to inoculate myself from claims that I just don't get art, the Olympics, or am some sort of prude. You don't get to play that game here.
What we saw in the opening ceremonies was not mock fun, but a celebration of pansexual nonsense as normative. The entire presentation assumed that we should celebrate that which is perverted and unhealthful.
Today's apologists for the performance are trying to pass it all off as an homage to the famous painting, The Feast of the Gods, by Jan Harmensz van Bijlert.
Except that is not all it was. Barbara Butch, the obese pansexual gal who starred in the sordid performance, proclaimed it the "gay New Testament" and saw herself as the Olympic Jesus (seen in the pic). By now, you should also have seen one of the French programs, which referred to it as a Last Supper painting re-creation. Those excusing this trash either know better or are ignorant.
And for all the feckless Christians who want to excuse the pagan celebration, suggesting that God doesn't need to be defended, and thus Christians never need to get perturbed or should not be annoyed at pagans acting like pagans - spare me your lack of gonads. Elijah would like a word.
I am not surprised at these things, but I am not going to pretend that "it's no big deal" or okay. It's not okay. It shows a barbarous enmity for Christianity....the kind of hatred that supports forced labor of bakers to bake the cake, and firing anyone who doesn't follow the pretended tolerance of the left.
If you think that Ms. Butch's statement that is on her Instagram right now, which includes the statement that her "aim is to unite people," and you agree with that, then I look forward to seeing complaint to the Olympics about the Brazilian surfer Joao Chianca, who was required to replace his surfboard or be disqualified because it had an image of Christ and deemed an impermissible religious symbol.
So it's not really about unifying or tolerating anyone but themselves.
Lastly, France has an abundance of beauty that they could have reminded us of - Joan of Arc, the sacrifices on Normandy, the artistry of Monet, and a dozen other world-class things. BUT on a global stage, in an event designed to present the most dedicated and disciplined athletes on the planet, this Olympic Committee showcased the literally least disciplined and most debauched humans available, and at its center is a morbidly obese lunatic who embodies and demonstrates nothing but contempt for self-control by her every statement and motion.
The show was not even just a mockery of Christianity, but a mockery of the values behind every athlete that is appearing at the events. And we are absolutely right to be outraged.
