I guess you can look at it that way But, given the choice, would you rather do the math yourself or let the box do it for you, and much faster too. You do have the choice... you can turn it all off and just use the scope as just a scope.

Kinda reminds me of the advent of glass cockpits and flight management computers. Those of us brought up on paper maps, E6-B whiz-wheels, and analog gauges called that cheating. But in the end, the technology cut down your workload and gave you more precious attention to actually flying the plane.
