I go to a "teaching" hospital yearly for endocrine checks and recently had to educate a new doctor assigned to my case.
As she is talking to me about science and why she wants me to continue cholesterol meds, she is wearing a mask! When I mentioned that her science also says her mask is just a "social signalling device", she had no rebuttal and quickly realized I do not trust her judgement more than my own.
Stopped my cholesterol meds a couple of months ago and no longer need my cane for walking, migraines are gone, balance is great, joints are more flexible and less painful. I feel 20 years younger although my heart reminds me that is not the case. My quality of life is greatly improved with "slightly elevated" cholesterol levels.
Also worth noting: What are considered to be the normal cholesterol levels have been lowered several times in past decades so that more people would be put on meds. During the last 100 years, heart disease rates have increased as the availability of these "preventative" drugs also increased. Doesn't take a rocket surgeon to figure this is not entirely coincidental.
Eat real food, take only the drugs that benefit your body, and do your own research before seeing the doctor. More than once I have educated doctors. Once, a neurologist Googled something right in front of me after I suggested a couple of my conditions could be related and she said that could not be. She was shocked to find that I knew more about some findings related to my condition, than she did.
