@One Ping Only mentioned the PX4 the other day. That motivated me to dig around for this matched set.

The Px4 is an evolution of the 92 and the Cougar designs in terms of the trigger and safety related features. It was one of the first polymer handguns with interchangeable backstraps. SA/DA and hammer fired. The rotating barrel was designed to minimize recoil. The safety doubles as a decocker. The PX4 wasnt met with much fanfare when it came out. In fact there were a lot of critics. Over time it gained a huge following. They are still selling after 15+ years and used prices for them on GB and other sites lately have been more than I paid for the guns new. Even though the Px4 Storm kind of odd looking, the action on this gun screams 'well made'. It feels and functions like a far more expensive pistol.

Langdon sells a customized version of the PX4 in a similar fashion to Wilson's Beretta 92. The Langdon trigger is central to that offering.

In the photo is another favorite of mine. The Helicon-Tex pistol bag. I bought several of them a few years ago. They are the cats ass in this category. Way better than the ballistic nylon or canvas-style bags or rugs. The overall design, Cordura material and stitching is first rate.

I should have mentioned the pistols shown are the subcompact and the full size. The subcompact is no longer offered. Beretta replaced it with a compact carry model that has a slightly longer barrel than the sub. It's about 3/4 inch longer. See below.

I always wanted a Cougar 8000 or whatever they were named. I was waiting on the .45ACP version. It came out, timing was bad, all of them were gone from the market. Oh well. I'm not sure the PX4 would scratch that itch but I will seek one out to see.

Definitely not as pretty as the Cougar, which is all metal. I don't think they are still making the Cougar. Used... $1000 bucks minimum. I recall Beretta's 'economy' line Stoeger was making the Cougar for a while. Stoeger guns are all made with Beretta tooling, so for those whose egos can stand it, Stoeger firearms are a good value. Beretta design and manufacturing, lower cost.

You don't see a lot of 45 ACP Berettas these days. The 'new' Cheetahs are all 380s and the 92's are all 9mm. Lot's of 40 cals in the used market as with all the other brands. There are some good bargains on 40's. Poor man's 10mm. I never sold mine. I still like shooting them.

You can get the PX4 in 45, but I suspect they are NOS or used. Very different gun on the outside when compared to the Cougar. That may not work for everybody.

A full sized PX4 is pretty high up on my wanted list.

I saw a compact for $400. That's a bargain for the 9mm. Looks like it was fired for a week and put in a closet.

Wondering if I should complete the set: Full size, Compact, Sub compact.

The only issue is its Armslist and I have sworn off using them for private sales or buys. Too many flakes out there.
