hello, quick question

I'm trying to find a outside the waistband OWB double magazine pouch that can fit the 10 round 9mm magazines for the glock43x that can ALSO fit a 2.25 inch duty belt.

i did a little research and i found two possible items

falco

Double Magazine Open Top OWB Leather Pouch with Retention Screw | F103 | Falco

but this doesn't say whether it can fit a 2.25 inch duty belt

and safariland

79 - Slimline Open Top Double Magazine Pouch

but this doesn't have any options for the glock43x, but it does have an option for the glock48, which i have heard uses the same magazines as the glock43x, but i'm not sure and would like some confirmation, does the glock48 use the EXACT same magazines as the glock43x?

i am also open to the possibility of getting one custom made from a good leather holster company, please let me know if you have one in mind, thank you

I really like my Blade Tech mag pouch / holster. They make a double mag pouch. According to their fitment chart, you need the 9-40DS.

I also really like the "Mod-Lok" upgrade belt clips.

(wonders why OP didn't just get a G43 "sport" pouch from Glock  )

(wonders why 43x/48 mags don't fit  )

So I dig out the new G43 pouch and try to put a Dagger Micro 15rd mag in it and IT DOESN'T fit. Motherf*cker! 😠 Note how the pouch is bulged--mag is only inserted about an inch. I guess I'll be taking a heat gun to it when when I'm ready to put a belt/holster rig together...

I blame this on the FNG ( @howtoglock43x ) for bringing up the topic. ;) No, just fucking with you. ;) Welcome Aboard! :)

So, if you're running 10 round mags, one in the gun and two spares, that's a total of 30 rounds.

You can use the 15 shot mags for the PSA Micro Dagger. They fit and work in the 43X and the 48. (I have them) Same round count with two mags.
Unlike the Shield Arms mags which require a metal mag catch because the mags are metal. The PSA mag has a polymer frontispiece so the mag catch and mag notch are both polymer.

Then just use a single mag pouch for a double column 9mm mag

I’m curious about the wide duty belt and why a small frame Glock is strapped to it.

And if you can't find what you like, this guy can custom make whatever you want if you want Kydex. I've got 3 of his holsters and a mag pouch. He's a Mod on our suppressor forum and a Pastor.

You can contact him via DM on Facebook, or his email.

Lots of pics of holsters, mag pouches, knife sheaths, etc.

This is the one he made for my PF9SS/G43X.

do you prefer kydex? i think i would prefer leather

I'm not generally a leather guy, though I do like hybrid leather / kydex IWB pistol holsters.

But for an OWB mag pouch, I want durable and functional. I like that I can use the mod-lok belt clips to snap the pouch on / off without having to remove my belt or threading the belt through slots / holes.

is leather not durable and functional?

It is. But for me leather tends to be too heavy and thick. Retention is better with plastic holsters. By comparison, not as good for concealed carry. I like semi custom leather holsters for my finer guns. Mainly it's aesthetic and easier on the finish.

Some don't like the feel of plastic against their skin.

Contrary to plastic haters on the interwebs, Kydex and its equivalents wont wear down the finish if you keep them clean. Leather is hard to clean on the inside that makes contact with the gun. All holsters collect grit and grime over time. Regarding EDC, I dont care what it looks like or if the gun is getting holster wear. It's not jewelry. It's a tool.

There is no convincing someone who loves tanned leather that kydex is better. Old guys who watched Gunsmoke and played cowboys and Indians when they were kids will never embrace plastic. :) Buckaroos. They also still wear tighty whities.

Personally I don't care for IWB hybrids because I don't want a huge slab of leather or pleather strapped to my side.

For OWB, leather is more acceptable to me. I have a few Wright Leatherworks and I often sported a Miami or Jackass shoulder rig when I carried for a living. Also occasionally a G&G or Galco SoB.

i like leather because it doesn't make noise

the SCRRRRRTCH sound that a gun makes when you pull it out of a kydex holster is

1: very recognizable
2: can be heard from like 30 feet away depending on back ground noise

leather absorbs noise instead of creates it, that's the primary reason i like it

that and leather feels nice against the skin and is far more comfortable. but that's me, some guys like kydex, they should go for it.

Agree. If I ever get a holster for my Colt Python, it would HAVE to be leather. :)

That would be me. Though if I'm carrying either IWB or OWB, I wear an undershirt as a layer between my skin and the holster / gun. In any case, if IWB, I prefer leather (hybrid) against my body rather than something hard.

Yep... If I'm carrying it, it's going to show signs of wear. It's really something to be proud of rather than avoid! :D

I wouldn't try to convince them. I don't think one is necessarily better than the other. Both are good when done well.

They do look like a "big awkward blob" of leather. But the concept really works well. I like the big ones with TWO clips. So it's a big hunk of holster. But it spreads the weight out and eliminates hot spots. Nobody is going to see it, since it is concealed. I'm big on form follows function rather than esthetics.

I don't know what "SRRRRRTCH" is. But it reads like a long scratching noise, which is definitely not my experience with kydex. Maybe if it's really dirty AND you're VERY SLOWLY drawing. My draw isn't slow. The only noise may be a "click." And if it's a SHTF situation, the "click" will merge with a "bang." The bad guy won't have time to recognize the sound of just a holster draw. :)

Under what circumstances when you are drawing a pistol do you need to be stealth?

If you do have to draw, then what do you care if the bad guy recognizes the sound or not?

In most defensive situations where a perp presents a weapon and threatens, you have two seconds to draw and fire. Maybe less if he already has the drop on you.

Yeah... I'm not worried about the "click" the bad guy may or may not hear. It's more likely he will respond to my MOVEMENT rather than the noises I'm making. I suppose I could rip a fart to mask my drawing sound and distract the bad guy! ;-)

I also do suppose there may be a situation where I may want to be stealthy... a home invasion, perhaps? But then it's unlikely I'd be drawing from a holster in that situation.

If it's a good fart, hopefully the perp will run away.

A former co-worker told me he ripped a good fart in his car. The GF was in the passenger seat and hurled out the window because the stench was so overwhelming.

i guess my ears are better then yours because man that draw is LOUD
