For a while now I have been somewhat disappointed in the direction Vedder seems to be taking. It's probably connected with their desire to grow the business, so they are increasing production and as it often happens quality suffers.
I've advocated for Vedder for a long time. I still love their pocket "J" holsters for small pistols. But their other stuff... seems to be aimed at the "I just bought my first gun" customer. Now they are selling 'holster pillows'. Maxi pads. WTF. Anyone who buys that ... we can't be friends.
The dealbreaker for me was I recent bought a pocket holster for a G42 I wanted to discreetly carry for a special event. I made the error of buying a 'digital' pattern instead of a solid color and when it arrived I thought it was shitty quality. It looks cheap. So I contacted them and said I thought the film they have started using for camo-style holsters was inferior to what they used to sell. I got a bunch of runaround from some Suzie who works there in sales or marketing and she pissed me off even more by suggesting I send it back at my own expense. I have probably bought a dozen Vedder holsters over the past ten years. I mentioned that. She pretended to not hear what I was saying.
While letting quality slip, they have also been jacking prices for the past couple of years. So fuck them. There are a lot of fish in the sea when it comes to holsters. I refuse to buy holsters that claim to be 'veteran owned' or Assembled in the USA" when the truth is their holsters are made in the Nunchuck Province of East BongBong by a guy named Dung. I'm Ok with that for a 30 dollar holster. Not one that costs 80 bucks or more.
I have two Tenicor holsters. They are outstanding. This is a preferred brand by a lot of pros who carry concealed. Not cheap. But I don't mind paying for quality. So while searching for an IWB holster for my new EDC, the HK CC9, The Tenicor Velo 5 is my choice. It's suitable for AIWB as well as IWB on the hip. Having a couple of a previous model Tenicor's, for a G48 and Beretta PX4 I can state with out reservation Tenico lives up to it's reputation for pro quality. I costs a few bucks more but this is something I use every day. So I'm not aiming to squeeze the shit out of a buffalo nickel. It's worth the extra cost. $125.
