He died from stomach cancer last year. He was 62.

I worked with some real characters.

A guy in my group would always sing "You Belong to the City" when I walked by. He thought I dressed like I was on Miami Vice. I guess I kind of did. He was also preoccupied with my social and sex life. He was divorced and very nerdy.

In my government days, some of the guys I worked with in field assignments were like characters out of a movie. Former military, various special ops, civilian mercenaries, etc. When I was a newb they were brutal. You had to have a thick skin and a healthy liver.

I'm glad you didn't take it personal. They are brutal to all newbs, even newbs in their squadron.
