but couldn't get the exact slide to match the 17L in my other thread
this will have to do
ran out of P80 frames so this frame was a blank grey ghost precision serialized, but same as a poly 80 pf940v2 with GG grip texture
This one has an optic ;)

I still have some parts to replace on this one to make it really match the other one (except the slide)

I need to add the aluminum trigger shoe on this one
and also the Apex polished Extractor (yeah I know its a waste of money, I put one on the other gun for the hell of it)

and I need to manually polish the slide release not pictured

other than that it is setup like the other 17L

Silencerco barrel
GPT
Ghost Unit 3.0 connector
Carver Custom magwell
Glock OEM internal parts
Hogue grip because I have large hands

I’ve built a few of them and they are great shooters. I’m about to build one on a G19x frame. Yep, have a g19 based 17L sized barrel from KKM. Should be a good looking pistol.
Would that make it a 19XXL?

Wasn’t sure what to label it but that seems to follow my line of thinking to a T. It will be a 19x sized frame, L sized slide but will require a dust filler for the slide.

Did I mention how expensive KKM barrels can be? Definitely the most expensive barrel I’ve purchased.

I have not had much time to hit the range, but finally made it happen, this 17L shoots great.

First 200 rounds were flawless, the Osight red dot is great (I am probably going to buy another Osight.)

Happy with it, now need to find more reasons to go shoot it :)

Reasons meaning I need to find some local friendly competitions like I had in Virginia, put chores and work aside and go have fun with my toys once a month.

Kkm might be spendy but they are great barrels.

How big a pia is it to do a long slide 10mm?

Depends on the slide and barrel combo. Some take quite a bit of work to run, some don't run right, and some are plug and play, but if you avoid certain combos, it will increase your chances to have a nice running one. If you use a LW barrel and LW slide, it should run perfectly. If you use a KMTactical basic G40 slide and their barrel, you probably won't get it to run right. The MKII slide is pretty good and takes minimal work for it to run great. Of all of them, I'd probably only recommend Glock and Lone Wolf on the long slides.

I am a value buyer, I have no need for KKM no matter how awesome they are :) They are overpriced IMO

I am not sure I want a 10mm long G40 clone yet, maybe

10mm is expensive at the rate I like to put rounds downrange. I only shoot a box of 50 of 10mm here and there, going through 300-500 9mm in a range outing is normal.

I seem to find better deals on 45 cal than 10mm

Use Ammoseek.com for ammo prices if you are not doing so already. From time to time, you can get 10mm for around $0.30 per round which is also about the best I've seen on .45.

I do use ammoseek but its annoying :D half those people can take their overpriced shipping and choke on it

I got an amazing deal on 45 at the CMP a couple weeks ago, blazer brass 45 cal for 28 cents per round, no joke, not a typo

I am kicking myself for not buying more, that price didn't really click in my brain until later and it sold out minutes after I bought a case

I have not see 10mm that cheap, its more like 38 cents a round on a super deal

I had to go look, ammoseek is random
not a bad deal at all

but I bet this hits more like 40 than 10mm, guessing a light powder load

1060 is not real strong but it's suitable range ammo.

Freedom munitions sometimes will offer free shipping and a 10% discount code. I stock up.

Yes, I like their 9 and 45 have not tried the 10 (I am fairly new to 10)
Will get some 10 on the next sale I see
People in general complain about freedom munitions, but I have never had a problem with misfires using them
