I havent been motivated to do much shooting over the past couple of weeks. The weather has not been agreeable. Over the holiday I had the nasty flu that's been going around. It left me with a little bronchitis that's only now clearing up. I rarely get sick. Once a decade. Not even colds. I guess my number came up.Mine just has a SBA5 on it (10.5" barrel). Shot another 10 rounds this morning just goofing around in my backyard. I must be developing a feel for it. The 375gr jhp's from underwood aren't bothering me nearly as much as they used to in the 16" carbine I had sold a while back
Not feeling 100% also demotivates me from being outside when it's cold and wet. Winters are really not that bad in my nick of the woods, but everybody gets acclimated to their climate. Now, if it's 40 degrees and raining or sleeting I say fuck it and stay inside. When I was younger, I'd be shoveling or scraping ice off a car at 0 deg F. Never again. I want to get out and shoot the 50 Beo some more and the new airgun. I just don't have the will to do that in shitty weather.
The Limbsaver claims to reduce felt recoil by 40%. The recoil really isnt all that bad with the 50 beowulf. I'm accustomed to shooting clays and it feels similar to a 12 gauge. To me anyway. My priority with this gun is to first get it running reliably. Then I'll get down to my original game plan, which is how a big bore AR performs in a defensive scenario. Especially involving vehicles. I have a feeling that I'm going to discover that the AK is all-around better than a 12.7x44 AR for perforating a vehicle. Certainly a lot cheaper and probabvly mechanically more dependable.
I confess the real reason for choosing 50 Beowulf is it makes half inch holes.
