I found this construction business on a trip in Ohio (near Cleveland, I think).Been there when I was a kid. Heart of Amish country.
As a kid, I thought it got its name from all the horse and buggies on the road. My Grandfather would say..."I wish they'd get those fuckin' things off the road"... What can I say. A child's logic.

For all you former carrier peeps...
Special mention to the crew of this B-52, who not only had the inspiration to attempt a carrier approach just to mess with the Navy guys, but the fact that they dropped gear and flaps has to make you smile...

When I was on the Indy, we had a B-52 fly-by.... at flight deck level off the port side. That's about 70 feet above the water. It was very cool.
Cool! That's exactly how it looked for us, too! Must "be a thing."![]()

The older engines were turbo jets and they smoked a lot. 60's airliners did too. Upgraded B-52's with turbo fan engines and today's airliners with high bypass engines get most of the thrust from bypass air. Little to no smoke. It always amazes me how much coal those things roll...![]()
