Back when playing "Cowboys and Indians" was not frowned upon or outright called racism, you had "Cap Pistols" that took a roll of these paper caps. Later, circular plastic cap rings replaced them.
The paper caps could also be used in the above pictured "Cap Bombs". Later, these became plastic too.

Ah ha ! I had a cap gun. Those plastic deals musta come after I had a bb gun 😂 Ummm those bombs look fun ! Never seen that.
