Lambo side note here: Of all supercars, I detest the Lambo quite a lot. You could not give me one and have me keep it. I would sell it immediately and put the cash elsewhere in life. I may drive it for a day to see what it's like and take it to a track to see how they drive. But, that would be it. Now give me a nine series Porsche, that's another matter indeed.
Years back, when our services were contracted by the owners of the Limo Show in Las Vegas, I met the guy that imports these piece of shit cars to America. He wanted to do a deal to re-sell some things we made in some of his Lambo dealerships in Cali. In fact, I believe he could have sold a lot of what we made due to his location(s). From a business perspective it made sense on both ends and was a perfect target market.
But, what a ball buster guy he was! He played the nice guy first courting me at the show and was kinda like a guy you see in the movies - aka Goodfellas. After several discussions after the show, he thought things were going great and gonna happen, and I just turned it all around totally and told him no he would not be a reseller and ended discussions. No acrimony, no drama. I just said no way whatever his offer was. I don't think he probably ever heard a rejection like that in is life because he was kinda pissed.
So, when I say I detest these vehicles I mean it. And for sure I don't like the folks who drive them as I've met a few at track days. They are a different breed and worse than Ferrari owners. A lot worse. Perhaps that was a strong reason I bailed on the deal because we may have had to service some total dick heads out of the deal. There may be some okay fellas around that own these cars, but in general they are not my cup of tea and I have no desire being around them, particularly when dealing with money and for sure having to provide service to them after a sale.
Bring me a Porsche! The working man's supercar.
