They should make the song "Polk Salad Annie" her campaign song. Just change "Polk" to "Word", and you're GTG... Gee, what if Trump picked up on this, like he did with Pocahantas?

It's "poke salad", which was something only the poorest southerners ate. You have to boil the shit out of the leaves before eating them because all parts of the plant are toxic. Although lots of people think it's "polk". The term is short for pokeweed.

My property is full of this obnoxious weed and no matter how many times I pull it up - it comes back. Like kudzu.

Paraphrasing Steve Miller, I mention this correction only in the pompatus of love.

I was going by the song title from my youth. That's where I got the spelling. I guess the guy at the record company typoed the label.
When looking up the plant, indeed, it is "poke".

Record company must have been Yankees. There’s no such thing as a Polk Weed :)

When I worked in a grocery store in high school a young woman asked me where the Parmeezian cheese was. I guessed she was unfamiliar with Italian cheeses.

She likely thought "Provolone" rhymed with baloney, too! :ROFLMAO:
